‘PAGE EIGHT. ~~ Considerable interest is displayed on the part of certain individuals at Midwest Home Camp in regard to what is going on at Burris Dome, 18 miles north. Information fs mea- ger, but it is reported that the Atlantic Oll company of New Jersey is rigging up to resume operations on section 16, where a hole was abandoned about a year ago after reaching a depth of 600 feet. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. M. Miller have returned from a two-weeks’ vacation spent in Yelowstone Park. Judging from the stories and descriptions, they had a very enjoyable trip. Mr. Milter is the popular proprietor of the lunch room at Home Camp. Dr. Jeffers, popular dentist of Home Camp, and present mayor of Buffalo, has just returned from a visit to Buffalo. H. Snyder who also stated that several of the businesses located there have made provision for moving to the new townsite of Snyder, East Salt Creek has formerly been known as “Snyder- ville.” Now, that the Railroad town site people have elected to call thelr town “Salt Creek,” the good Lord only knows where folks wil land when searching for one or the other. Lavoye will probable gobble those looking for “Snyderville” and Sny der will get those looking for Salt Creek, and when trains start run ning, the railroad town of “Salt Creek” will gobble the whole works. TEAPOT Residents and travelers along the highway between Teapot and Lavoye beheld a gorgeous and grotesque sight last week. At first glance, some jumped to the conclusion that an ad- vance float of some circus parade was touring the oll field. It re mained for J. R. (‘Doc"- Douglas. druggist of Teapot, to furnish authentic information regarding the apparition. It seems that K. Davitt, who recently installed a handsome new peanut and popcorn machine at the corner of Main and Boulder Streets, Teapot, hearkened to the siren call and promise of greater riches in the sister village of La- voye and acting on his hunch hired a Ug, bright colored truck on which he mounted his rubber tired machine. Standing braced, with feet apart, holding tightly to the handles of his machine, Davitt made a spectacle comparable to Father Neptune and the Sirens. Last reports are that Davit is cashing tn on his “hunch” with a vengeance. Angelo Nokas, formerly employed at the Manhattan cafe at Casper, {s now omployed in a similar position at the Teapot Beanery, Bill Paap was a visitor in Casper yesterday. The new Hargis building has been ovened for business and ts being operated as a first class hotel and rooming houre. Gordon Ed- Wards and said to be one of the best dramas known to the screen. The story is thoroughly and vitally American and has for its hero a United States naval officer who is detailed to investigate a trio of in- ternational spies and prevent them from blowing up the Panama Canal. Vigorous action marks every foot of film and spectacular effects, in. cluding the most realistic shipwreck ever ehown on the screen, abound throughout the picture. ARMY OF CHILDREN 15 USED IN RIALTO FILM Child actors are the bane of the directors’ lives—in most cases. Herbert Brenon, who directed Betty Compson and Conway Tearle in “The Rustle of Silk,” had no dif- ficulty with a small army of children who acted in this Paramount picture which is now on view at the Rialto theatre. But his troubles in this instance were simplified by the fact that the children didn’t have to act; it was enough if they behaved naturally. And they were induced to behave in this nner by the presence of enough chocolate candy to satisfy their sweet taste for a month. For, in the scene in which a dozen smal! hoys appeared with Miss Comp- son, the youngsters push open a doo, romp into the room, upset a box of candy and scramble for it, thereby interrupting a proposal of marriage that furnishes much of the comedy in the story. It took a little time to rehearse the scene—without the candy. But the actual scene with real chocolate creams went with a bang. Three times the scene was photographed and three times the chscolate box Was replenished. At the conclusion of the work a dozen surfeited lads agreed that working in pictures was a great life! eee Negro Named for Jesse James Only Bad One In Femily MOULTRI®, Ga., (United Press). —Jesse James {s the only one of the 27 children who has ever been in trouble, Aaron James, negro living near here declared, in blaming the misfortune on the fact his son was named for the famous outlaw.
