NEW RUPP HAS GREAT GLADG Many Improvements Are} Made in Models Now On Sale. The new Hupmobile recently an- nounced, calls to mind that each new Hupp model has contained many improvements and refinements over each previous one and is the result of 15 years exclusive concen: tration by Hupp engineers on the four cylinder principle in quality manufacture. The new car's initial showings throughout the country, to the pub- to merchandising experts associated with the industry aroused such fav- orable comment that O, C. Hutchin- son, general sales manager, ordered 20,000 of them built before the end of the year, which means capacity op- erations for the main plant at De troit, as well as all Hupp subsidiar fes, as soon as possible. Betterments in the new motels have been made throughout the car —including body exterior and in- terior, storm curtains on the open models, perfected engine, axles trans- mission and clutch. The principal changes improving performance are in the crankshaft and reciprocating parts—including particularly, duralumin connecting rods and aluminum alloy pistons— camshaft, cooling and oiling sys- tems, clutch, transmission and bear- The crankshaft changes are particularly emphasized in driving freedom from vibration being readily apparent, officials declare. he crankshaft is counterbalanced, and) its weight increased from 32% to 57% pounds to eliminate all ten- dency to whip or spring. Comfort and riding qualities have been improved by increasing the wheelbase three inches; by length- ening and widening both the front and rear springs, and by increasing the depth of the frame from 4% to 6 inches. ——__e—_____ coal passes through Cincin- nati than any other city in the United Btates.
