FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 1923. BROTHER SLAIN BY BROTHER Ao CLIMAX OF FEUD Boyhood Quarrel Seethes Until Shot Is Fired to End Dispute. PROVIDENCE, R. I., Aug. 10.— Between William B. and John & Buckley there arose a boyish fight not 80 uncommon among brothers, but while ordinarily they fofget John and William did not. As boys they had other fights and as men they quarreled when they met. William is said to have got the best of it on many occasions. He is de- clared to have threatened to kill his brother John. That is the story told by John to account for his killing of his brother, William. Both Young Men. William was 31 and John 1s slight- ly younger. At their most recent en- counter, before the one that cost ‘William's life, John received a couple of broken ribs and a general beating. It is declared by witnesses that on the day William was shot, he had ap- peared at the flat where John lived. The woman living in the flat below aaid William seemed to be full of lquor. At any rate, when John's wife ap- peared on the stairs she took that view and did not want to call her husband, for whose presence William was making loud demand. When John appeared he carried a loaded revolver in a back pocket. His story is that William drew on a life: long knowledge and a full imagination for a series of insults. John feared his brother would fire, William re- merking, “I'll get you now.” Fatal Shot Is Fired. John told the police later that he believed William was reaching to carry out the threat, so fired, intend- ing to hit William in the leg. The bullet entered William's jomen. John then fired three times in the air to attract attention and had his wounded brother hurried to a hos- pital, where William died. William had been estranged from his wife and was living with his mother. STATE SELLS GAS AT CUT IN PRICES - PIERRE, 8. I apply it with an eye-dropper dally— just enough to dampen the scalp. ‘This method does not muss the hair. It requires but a minute a day. The result is my heavy, silky, lus- trous hair which many young girls envy. I belleve that any woman who| employs it will always thank me for tt. trous. It has never begun to grow gray. Falling hair and dandruff are unknown to me. ‘The reason lies in a formula which I found in France. Many of my friends on the stage have used it, and they gained results like mine. They all have wondrous hair. Now I have arranged so every woman, every man, may share these benefits with me. This formula which France gave me is at your store to- day. These things clog the hair roots, stop the growth. And they stifle the glands which supply Pigment to the hair. Thus hair stops growing, loses luster, falls out or turns gray.
