Phone 948 Cand Beech INDUSTRY IS CONTINUED WASHINGTON, May 3.—A general investigation of the oil industry is being made by the department of justices in connection with the recent Investigation by the senate commit- tee headed by Senator LaFollette, Republican, Wisconsin. It was said to be the aim of the government to determine whether any Stock Exchange they pledged their support at a dinner attended by the “friends of Saunders" last night. ‘The teams were organized under the direction of a “centra! commit- tee” and proposed by three days of, activity for which they will receive no financial remuneration, to carry to success the local capitalists’ plan of disgos'ng ‘of 50,000 shares of class “A” Piggly Wiggly stock to the pubic. The rally of the citizens to the ald of Piggly Wiggly and its president followed the publication in news- Paper advertisement yesterday of Mr. Saunders’ declaration that “unless I sell Piggly Wiggly class “A" stock I will go broke.” The advertisement declared that | Saunders had not made “a nickel” in his trading on the excRange, because, he said, he held the interest of those who trusted him above his own.
