UGE OF FIRE SIREN IN WILL BE DISCONTINUED At a conference between Mayor Blackmore and the Boy Scout offi- cials after the successful termina- tion of the hunt for the missing boy Tuesday, the mayor asked the Scout officials and the Natrona Power Co, to try and secure some other methods of notifying the Scouts that they were needed than the big siren. When this big whistle went off Tuesday afternoon, the strects of the down town district cleared as if by magic, even the busses took to the curb and for few minutes all business came to a standstill while crowds gathered on the corners looking for the fire department to turn out. The firemen and the police knew what the whistle was for but the general public was misled and rather than cause further trouble the big siren will not call the Scouts any more. However, Chief Engineer Johnson at the Natrona Power Co. has ar- ranged another whistle at the plant | there that is not a siren and is a very loud tone, to sound the call for the uts and the organization can still be used in cases of civic need with- out using the famous old whistle, ite pald an income of one cent, one J a tax of two cents and one a tax of three cents.
