The challenger sure to come. There is no undefeated team in the entire state and there are many good teams, a fact which is bound to make this the greatest tournament to date. Because of the distance between the state's. high schools it {s hard to get much dope as many of the strong er teams have not met. In general the teams form two groups, those on the Union Pacific and those in the rest of the state. Casper is the only team which has made a trip out of her group classed in this manner, except for the Cheyenne game at Cas. per. Sam Neff very wisely brought his boys down south meeting Chey- enne, Laramie, and the University Preps incidentally getting his boy: familiar with tne fioor on which they will contend for championship hon- ors. Cowley stopped on her way to Laramie for @ game with Worland, winning from tho home team by the narrow mar- gin of 14-11, retaliating for a defeat earlier in the season. Worland has twice lost to Casper but split with Powell and Thermopolis. From the dope Cowley looks about as good as any team in the: north at least and it is just possible that last year’s champions will take home the bacon again. In early season she didn't seem ‘to have much but Red Willis has evidently *been working the team over judging from her re- cent victories over Sheridan and Worland. Leslie Crawford's team at Powell has been displaying a fine style of basketball this season. ‘They have beaten Cowley twice, Cody twice, Greybull twice, and Basin twice and lit even with Thermopolis and Vorland. She is undoubtedly one of the strong teams this year. Thermopolis is a new tournament entry and seems to have a better team than usual. She tied Casper, split even with Worland and has had a fair season. She ts not regard- ed as dangerous. Basin, Cody and Buffalo all have fair teams. The last named has not met many of the stronger teams of the state and is hard to figure but is expected to give a good account of herself at Laramie. Moorcraft, a new entry, {s not ex- pected to place. Of the southern group of teams there are several ‘who ook good, Cheyenne, Laramie, Preps, Rawins, Rock Springs, Pine Buffs and Evanston are the eading entrt Like the northern teams none of them are undefeated and it can be shown by dope how any of themy can beat any other. Cheyenne has pbroken even with Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Casper and one Preps has beaten Laramie twice. Rock Springs has beaten Laramie twice, the Preps twice, and has split with ‘both Rawlins and Evanston.
