The civil marriage of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, only son. of Mr and Mrs, Harry Payne Whitney, of New York, to Miss Marle Norton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan 8. Norton, also of New York, took place in the city hall of the First Arrondissement of Paris today. The witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney and Miss, Beulah Norton. Word has been received here of the engagement of Mrs. Eileen Dinsmore to Mr. Richard D. Miller. Both are from Casper. Mr. and Mrs. Jack No- jan of Thermopolls entertained Wed- nesday evening at their home there with an enjoyable dinner party, dur- ing which affair the engagement was announced Mrs. Dinsmore is Mr. Nolan's sister. Among the out-of- town guests for the occasion were Mrs. J. H. Jeffrey and Mrs. Tom Hood, both of Casper. The home of the bride-to-be is in England, where she has during the past few years been, connected with seyeral of the large English newspa- pers. Since coming to this country has made several trips back to her home, where she visited with friends and relatives. The Woodcraft Thimble club met in regu'ar session Friday afternooh at the Odd Fellows’ hall. An interesting talk was given on the objects of the club by Grand Manager Neighbor Findling of Denver. Following the talk an attractive colonial dance was given by Catharine and Malena Bryne An entertaining reading was given b; M'ss Benetta Holman. Several music selections were given. Following the program a picnic lunch was served Silver Tea Thursday. Mrs. Alex Allen will entertain at a silver tea Thursday afternoon at her home, 132 North Park street, from 2 until 5 o'clock. The affair will be given for the benefit of the Royal Neighbors of America. All members and friends are invited to attend. A special invitation is given to vis'ting members of the organizaton.
