WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 19 CORONER'S JURY. FIXES BLAME OF WOMAN'S DEATH Robt. Clark Held Gun Which! Killed Grace Iowa, Jury | Finds at Inquest Held After Shooting. The verdict of the coroner's jury | which met yesterday afternoon to in-! vestigate the cause of the death of e Iowa, negress who was killed instantly at 1:40 p, m. of the same day was that she came to her death from a gunshot wound from a gun in he hands of Robert Clark. Clark is colored also. The inquest was held within two hours of the death of the woman, The negress was killed {n a house at 319 North Ash street, having been hot through the left temple. Clark had evidently fled from the house er firing the shot, for he was rested by Officer Pile of the police ent a short distance from the | scene of the killing. At the inquest yesterday he pro: tested his innocence vigorously and claimed that the woman had shot herself. Sheriff Perry A. Morris and Dr. 1, F, O'Donnell had gone to the scene immediately upon word of the occur rence. Grace Iowa had fallen from the bed to the floor and was dead ‘when tNey arrived. Dr. I. N. Frost removed the bullet from the wound.
