PAGE SIX MARKET GOSSIP AND FIELD NEWS MONTANA OPERATIONS REVIEWED HELENA, Mont., May 30.—The resumption on a large scale of operations in the Deyil’s Basin field is said to be indicated by the return ‘p Roundup of C. B. Foncanon of Aberdeen, S. D., who represents a group of capitalists in South Dakota who are heavily interested in Devil’s Basin acreage. Whree wells in sections 4, 5 and 16 were started by | this syndicate last year, none of which ‘were completed to the producing sands. Work in the first two is to be re sumed at once. Both of these wells are down about 400 feet. and in per fect order. The well on section 16 was shut down at about 1,400 feet. It is understood that as soon as the two shallower wells are compteted to the same depth, unless oii is found in the pper sands, diamond drills will be used to test the lower strata, with the expectation of getting a producing horizon tn the lower quadrants. On section § the deep test of the ‘Tri-City company is down about 260 feet and work has been stopped pend: ing the arrival of larger casing. This well was started with 19-inch bi a no casing has been run thus far. In terest centers on this test, which is to go to 2,380 feet, at which depth the Madison Iime should be reached. Re cent government publications tnc the Madison lime as an import source of ofl in Montana fields, and the proving of this formation would mean a new lease of life to many structures which have failed to pro duce in the Dakota or Kootenai sands Tn the Adams well in 14-11-24, just offsetting the Van Dusen discovery well, a severe crook in hole at 800 feet has foreed its abandonment, report from Roundup states. The rig now is beng sktided over a few feet and another well will be started at once by this company. A tig has also been erected for the Van Dusen No. 2, near the first well, and this.also will be started at an early date. The Montana Central company drilling in 8-11-25 of the Roundup field expects to resume drilling operations soon, hole having been shut down last fall at 800 fect when snow prevented further operations. At the Roundup Of and Gas well in 34-11-24 cementing off water is in progress, preparatory to cleaning out the debris resulting from an 80-quart nitro shot, which was exploded some weeks ago. Ofl in small quantities ts raised every time the baler is run, and when the well is cleaned out it is ex pected by the drillers that a commer cial well will result. The Spokane Roundup expects also to resume drill ing as soon as a car of casing arriv After fighting a string of casing which parted in several places as a re sult of dripping in hole while under reaming was in progress, the Oil company has decide back to the 2,i00-foot mark, crook in the well developed months ago, according to another re port from Roundup. At this point the casing will be sidetracked and drill ing resumed in straight line. Better time can be made, drillers believe, Al though the well was partially straight: ened last fall, in a sufficient degree to permit the running of casing, contin ual difficulty has been had due to the tendency of the casing to break at that point. It ts not expected any dif ficulty will arise to prevent this action after the hole ds started straight. A pth of 2,300 feet had been reached with seemingly only 150 feet to go to the Tensleep sand, in which produc- tion is believed to be almost certain Two drilling rigs are reported to be on their way to the Kevin-Sunburst field in Toole county, and are said te have been shipped by the Standard Oil company of California, to open oper ations of that company in northern several Montana. Although the California company is known to have taken over considerable acreage in numerous parts of the field, it is not known where these two are to be placed. A derrick being erected on the south- quarter of the southeast quarter of section 10, township 35 north, range 3 west, a part of the Lincoln permit, is believed by ofl men of Kevin and Great Falls to be the work of the Cali- fornia company. In this case the offset well should make 5,000 to 10,000 Bbis. per day. And then the 40 acres will easily be worth $100,000.00 to this Syndicate, more than 12 times the entire Nar sce and leave us 2,560 acres in Pecos County. And in this case as I have always told you, I am going to sell this 40 acres and divide the proceeds 90% to the Unitholders and I take the other 10%. 40 Acres in Mexia Field—2,560 Acres in Fort Stockton Oil Field. I have always believed from the very day I bought this 40 acres and added to the 2,560 acres, in Pecos County, that it was a winner. And I'll never change my opinion, until I know different. My Friend drilling this offset well to our 40 acres has been Drilling Oil Wells for the past 30 years, And he will spend around $30,000 on this well. You know he has faith in getting 2 gst well or he would never spend that good money these close times, Latest News From the Field The offset well set 650 feet of 10-inch casing May 18th, and are making at the rate of 150 feet per day. By the time you read this le! the well will be 2,000 feet or more. And just a verffew more days we will know the value of this 40 acres. And if it should be worth a Million Dollars, it belongs to this Syndicate. For we have the to it, and the Title is perfect, and sent in to be filed. As I told you last week I am negotiating with parties ty Drill the 2,560 acres, on the 50-50 basis. And as soon as this deal is over I don't think I will have but little if any trouble in getting this contract closed up. And in the event they get the Oil that scores of the Leading Geologists of the Country pepaict underlies this part of the Field, our interest can easily worth Five Million Dollars to this pre And every Unitholder would come out with a lot of Money. Friends, is it not worth taking a chance on? Think it over quick. compare it to any other deal being offered. Friends, I am doing and going to do everytuing that is in the power of Mortal Man to make money for this Syndicate. Do you want in with me? I have given you the plain facts in every letter and every ad that you have read. I have not tried to mislead you, or deceive you to have you join me. I have not told you I was the world’s greatest Money Maker for others. I have not had my wife or some good friend go before the Notary and make affidavit that I had made them alot of Money. I have not had maps drawn up pote: several Oil Fields together that are more than 100 miles apart, and showing my acreage jam against them, in order to influ- ence you to join me: If I had been using all this propaganda stuff on you I would have done as many others have done. I would have capitalized for $250,000.00 or more. Instead I have made the capital just as low as I possibly could to put this deal over. Compare a $20 bill here to one in a $300,000.00 company. Our 40 acres alone today would be considered a very low capitalization at $8,000. Friends, many of you have been chasing rainbows in past history, and lost your money. Do you want to make it back?
