Texas, May 25, 1922.—The giant rotary rig of Reeser Petroleum, to be used in their first drilling test on Montalba Salt Dome, left Palestine today, and by the first of next week one of the most important test wells in East Texas Should be drilling on Roeser Petro- leum’s 7,000 acres around the Montalba Si Dorhe northwest of here. ver since the days of Spindletop has so much interest been shown in a test, and those who recall the intense excite- ment that followed the completion of the Lucas well on Spindletop predict that within two months Palestine will experi- ROESER’S ROTARY RIG ROLLS TOWARD MONTALBA Citizens of Anderson and Adjoining Counties Look for Interesting Developments on Salt Dome. ence a boom greater than that which built Beaumont. after the Spindletop dis- covery. , Mr. Roeser’s geological staff and field forces have made a thorough examina- tion of the Montalba Salt Dome, and the interest the big companies are showing in Roeser’s Montalba test prove that most of the successful operators in East Texas anticipate a gusher of staggering proportions on Montalba Salt Dome. The Roeser rig is the heaviest type used in Texas and is capable of drilling several thousand feet below the 2,700- foot horizon where Roeser Petroleum ex- pects to encounter the Woodbine sand. THE HOW AND WHY OF SALT DOMES Oil is fickle, elusive, migratory, even fugitive. Unlike any other mineral, oil seems to violate every law of nature—be- neath the carth surface it migrates uphill instead of down—its vehicles of travel are diverse. It lurks in porous limestone there today and gone tomorrow. It seeps through crystal sands in the bowels of the earth and forms ed- lies, against great subterranean bar- s like the Balcones Fault, The greatest naturai reservoirs of de oil in the world are along the stal plains of the United States and Mexico, from the mouth of the Missis- ippi to the peninsula of Yucatan. The world’s most famous gushers have been drilled in this area, for here oil gathers in veritable oceans be- neath the so-called salt domes, which, when pierced by the drill, belch pe- troleum in staggering quantities. Upon one of these salt domes the re- nowned Lucas was drilled. It burst into production, yielding 70,000 bar- Is of oil a day, and opened up to nkind the greatest gusher field \merica has ever known—Spindletop. Mind you now—Spindletop was a X seems perfect. ot} Jeeves rere e \ MEXif>-BooL About two years ago the West Co- lumbia Pool was pierced beneath a salt dome—its production startled the world, and even today it is one of the most consiStently productive fields in Texas. West Columbia is a salt dome— bear this in mind. It seems but yesterday that the Orange field was opened up—its mighty gushers were like an echo of the Lucas. Millions of dollar$ of new wealth is being created right now from the salt dome wells of the Orange Pool. Orange is a salt dome—it is the third sensational high light in the lurid history of American oil development. Montalba—evidently another salt dome—is, in my opinion, destined to be the next meteor to flash across the oil firmament and light the way for an- other group of million makers. Midway between the Mexia field on the southwest and the Caddo Pool on the northeast—betwixt the two fabulously rich “backwaters” of Na- ture’s oil tide—Providence placed Montalba—a huge “buckle” in the earth’s surface—a monster dome—a great natural upward fold of the earth’s surface, and I believe that be- neath it lies a pool of oil as great as Spindletop. 7,000 acres astride this dome be- longs to the Roeser Petroleum. After 28 years of successful experi- ence in the oil business I am ready to stake all that I own on Montalba, for here I see what appears to me Ameri- ca’s next great oil field. ‘se" tically in a straight line. Between the Liano Uplift of Texas and the Sabine ,mitted to pile up in the treasury. Between the Wichita uplift and Liano uplift of Texas, the great North Texas fields are located — Bukburnett, Electra, Archer, Breckenridge, Ranger, Desdemona and Brownwood—all lying prac- Che Casper Daity Cribune - \ ROESER RACE FoR MILLIONS STARTS The die is cast—I am ready—the race for millions is on. I announced last week that I would soon strike for fifty million dollars on Montalba: Salt Dome, and I promised you action. Today this promise is fulfilled, and by the time you read these lines, our giant rotary rig should be purring on the platform of our 112-foot derrick, and before this copy of The Casper Daily Tribune reaches remote subscribers, the bit should be spinning payward. My selection of Montalba Salt Dome as the scene for my next and greatest triumph in the oil business needs no justification now, for all the big companies seem eager to acquire acreage within my drilling block, and now that our rig is on the ground the mat- ter of financing my drilling campaign is simplified. Only a few weeks ago the Cosden Oil & Gas Com- pany paid me $4,934.25 for less than 66 acres near the site of our well No. 1 on Montalba. WITHIN A FORTNIGHT I EXPECT TO ANNOUNCE LEASE DEALS WITH AT LEAST THREE OTHER BIG COMPANIES. SO, IF I NEVER SELL ANOTHER DOLLAR’S WORTH OF SHARES I WILL CARRY OUT MY DRILLING PROGRAM ON MONTALBA, So secure da I feel now in the matter of the financing of Roeser Petroleum that from this date on, those who join me will receive permanent, transferable, negotiable certificates of interest in Roeser Petroleum, instead of the interim certificates I have issued up to this time. Those who joined me prior to this date and received interim certificates can send these certificates in to me and I will issue in their stead permanent certificates of interest that may be bought, sold or bartered on any market in the world. When I launched Roeser Petroleum I issued interim certificates, because the success of the venture was doubtful and I feared that I might be up against a long and tedious financing campaign, with the attendant perils of having my enterprise wrecked by “short selling” “bucket shop” ‘brokers, but now it seems no power on earth can stop me—I believe I am on the eve of triumph, so I can step out boldly and defy the unscrupulous brokers to em- barass me. Another thing—I have decided that before one dollar of the earnings of Roeser Petroleum goes into the treasury for distribu- tion as dividends I will return everybody’s money, dollar for dollar, and claim no dividend rewards for myself until the initial invest- ment of my pioneer stockholders is returned in full. In other words, those who join me now will get all their money back before the earnings and surplus of Roeser Petroleum are per- You folks who join me now must get your money back—you must be on “velvet” before my labons for Roeser Petroleum can,be rewarded by participation in the profits. Once our well No. 1 is drilling on 7,000 acres on Montalba Salt Dome it is very probable that the value of my shares will increase several fold. I will drill rapidly on Montalba, and perhaps be- fore I make many more public announcements our financing campaign will be drawing to a close and our drill will be” approaching the oil ireighted Woodbine sand. There is still room in Roeser Petroleum for many small stockholders, and these are the folks with whom I wish to surround myself in this en- terprise. I don’t want men with five or ten thou- sand dollars to join me_ I want the little fellows— men and wornen who can send me $500, or $250, or $100, or.as little as $50, or $25. It is this class of people I wish to enrich from Roeser Petroleum. Uplift, which is the next uplift to the east, one great field—Mexia—has already been discovered. ect that other equally great and It is reasonable to greater pools will be opened along this line where the folded formations make closed structures or domes. The great Montalba-dome, which I have discovered for Roeser Petroleum stands midway between the Mexia gusher pool and the Caddo field of Louis- iana. I believe it will prove to be another great oil field—greater than Mexia, because the structure, from all geological reasoning, is caused by a Salt dome. It is on the logjcal line for production between two rich producing pools. Geologically, it There are thousands of little investors in this country who have lost money in oil, and if pos- sible I want every one of these people to join me in Roeser Petroleum, if they buy but $10 worth of my shares. ————————— KL um — IS READY TT TURDAY, MAY 27, 1927 So great is my confidence in Reeser Petroleum that I would not hesitate to take a poor man’s last ten dollar bill, because if I re- fused it and then brought in a booming gusher and sold out Roeser Petroleum for Fifty Million Dollars, I could never ease my con- science of having denied a worthy person his just heritage of Na- ture’s bounty. Then again, if I financed Roeser Petroleum among a few rich men they would expect to dictate its policy, to dominate the enter- prise, to freeze out the little fellows, and I will have none of this. Within eighty days I expect to complete a well on Roeser Pe- troleum’s 7,000 acres on Montalba Dome, and I will hazard the prophecy that my first well will be the biggest well completed in Texas since the 70,000-barrel Lucas was drilled in at Spindletop some years ago. _ When these things are accor. aed, I anticipate no difficulty in disposing of the assets of Roeser Petroleum for at least 350,006,000. = I plan to drill many wells for Roeser Petroleum, all of which you will share in. Those who join me early will participate in all present and future operations of Roeser Petroleum. Only 250,000 shares of Roeser Petroleum are offered at $1.00 par and I must reserve the right to withdraw any remaining un- sold shares at any time without notice. In my 28 years’ activity in the oil business I have made millions of dollars for my associates, but most of these were rich men ere they met me; and I get but little thrill out of making rich men richer. THIS TIME I AM TO WIN A BIG FORTUNE FOR A LARGE ARMY OF LITTLE INVESTORS. I WANT THOUSANDS OF THE COMMON, EVERY DAY “JUST FOLKS” OF THIS NATION TO ENROLL WITH ME IN ROESER PETROLEUM. I WANT TO MAKE THOUSANDS OF POOR PEOPLE RECKON WITH THE INCOME TAX COLLECTOR, AND IT SEEMS TODAY AS IF NAUGHT A MIRACLE CAN THWART MY AMBITION. But little time remains to join me, and nothing can be gained by waiting, because my shares may_double or treble in value any day now—-so if you believe in me, and if you wish to share the al- most certain wealth of Roeser Petroleum, you must act promptly. It is not my disposition to plead with people—you have my story. The facts are yours—Reason—Act!
