FRIDAY, MAY 26, 1922. KIWANIS. GLUB AWARDS PRIZES TO GHILDRE State Winners of Essay Con- test Honored by Local Club at Luncheon Held Today. Helen McKim of Park schoo? and Marie Huber of Central, both eighth graders, Were presented with gold and giver medals reapocuvely at the Ki wanis club luncheon in recog- nition of thelr work in attaining first and second place among tho students of the state of Wyoming for essays on “How to Make the ways Safe” which were submitted to the National Highway and Highway Edu- cational committee a few weeks ago. Miss McKin also received a check of $15 and "sas Huber a check of $10. Miss Mary E. Morrow, a teacher at West Casper, recelved official recog- nition as the author of the lesson pian, taking first place among the teachers of the state, which plan was for the purpose of instructing pupils tn the matter of highway safety. Miss Morrow’s plan will be judged along with 47 others, each of which took first place in the state it repre- sents, and thg person whose macu- script takes first place in the decisioy of the judges will be given a prize of $590 and a trip to Washington, D. C. Miss McKim will also have an op- portunity to go to the national capi- if the manuscript which took first ce in the state of Wyoming shall be deemed worthy of first prize among a the states. ‘A.
