If our service, our merchandise ‘and our business prin- ciples, within the three years of our existence, have not earned the confidence and good will of our fellow-citi- zens, nothing, we could say here in our own favor, would alter their opinion. We consider a satisfied customer the foremost asset of every merchant and the best salesman whom we could employ. We are proud to say that we find this spirit of fair dealing pre-ailing among our fellow-merchants and that in all branches of commerce—ladies’ or men’s wearing apparel, groceries, household goods, furniture, etc., our Casper merchants are striving to adjust their wares aud prices to the needs of the p»blic and today are succenu- fully competing with and in many instances are ever ex- celling the offerings of mail order and other out-of-town merchants. Though every Casperite has undoubtedly the right to spend his money where he pleases, we honestly believe that it is not loyalty to his city alone, but his direct ob- vious advantage, if he patronizes home industry, and he will find that in most instances where out-of-town mer- chandise is offered at a seemingly lower price, a fair and careful comparison will prove in favor of the home prod- uct. The firmer the support and confidence in the home merchant, the more this merchant can do for Casper. It was this loyal support that made Denver a fine city to live in and this same support is all that is needed to make Casper a second Denver. Among the other necessities of life the musical indus- try takes a worthy and needed place and the soothing as well as inspiring influence of music in peace or war, in public gatherings or in the home, stands unchallenged. How many never realized that music has filled the void in their lives until they became owners of a good musical instrument? It is surprising how the musical spark, which slum- bers in every human being flares up, how lonesomeness, irritation, emptiness and even physical pain vanish as if by magic under the strain of “‘God’s greatest gift”— MUSIC. Musical patrons are strictly protected by the “‘one- price” policy of standard merchandise throughout the U.S. A. and it has been our aim to represent the highest grade musical merchandise according to our best judg- ment, though it is only fair to state that this “ohe-price” policy applies also to all other local music dealers. We welcome these new additions to our industry as clean and healthy competition, which is helpful to stimu- late the interest in the musical industry and give our citi- zens a chance to compare and select the instrument of their choice in their own town. Being vitally interested in the progress of music in our city, we are pleased to give advance notice of the fall con- cert season being an assured fact, as we have completed arrangements with at least four, probably five, celebrated artists, who will appear in our city. These artists are Mischa Elman, violinist; Flonzalee Quintette, instrumen- tal concertists; Marie Tiffani, of the Chicago Opera Co.; Mario Chalmee, well known as Caruso’s successor, and John McCormack, our beloved Irish tenor, and we be- speak for our endeavors the kind interest of every music lover, as all net proceeds will be dedicated to advance- ment of music under the supervision of our combined women’s clubs. Last, but not least, we wish to express to the Casper public our gratitude for the support which our business has received from all sources and ask to give us a chance to improve our service by bringing all seeming unfairness or grievances to our immediate attention, no matter what they may be so that we may learn from our mistakes, be- come 100 per cent efficient in all our dealings and uphold the high tradition of the musical industry in our city.
