Mrs. Margaret Freer, singer who appeared at the Iris theater .n the vaudeville program given Wednesday and Thursday, was the guest of honor at an informal luncheon served at 1 o'clock this noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. 8. MacMillan. Mrs. Ma- mie Corpy of Denver, sister of Mrs. Freer, was~also an out-of-town guest of the affair. Mrs. Freer has been a friend of D, S. MacMillan, manager of the ladies) ready-to-wear and the dry goods de- partment of the Richards and Cun ningham store since 1907. Part of the afternoon was spent in reminiscing of old times. Mrs. Freer is returning to Denver | where she will stay sor a short engage ment before leaving for New York where she will sail to the continent, Mrs. Freer will take some finishing work at well known musical conserva- tories on the continent as well as make a world tour. The act in which she starred at the Iris was highly ap- preciated by the music lovers of the city and hearty applause followed each selection. . . Class Meetings Are Postponed. The Upstreamers class of the Metho- dist Sunday school which was to have met with Miss Naomi Brittain this week end, will not hold a regular ses- sion until further notice. The meet- ing has been postponed on account of illmess in the Brittain family. oe. Shower Given for ‘Two Babies. ‘The Needlecraft club members held a shower yesterday afternoon for the twin babies of Mrs. Ellen Goughler, 980 South Jackson street. The affair was a complete surprise to the moth- er, as the club members first met at the home of Mrs. J. E. Lloyd and then proceeded to the Goughler resi- dence in a body. Each of the babies wes presented with’a silver cup as well as with many other pretty and useful gifts. A jar business session of the club was held followed by a social aft- ernoon spent with needlework. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Loulse Howard and Mrs. Dora Rhoades. ‘The guests of the afternoon included the Mesdames Dora Cartwright, Ella Brown, Frances Brady, Josephine Nes- bitt, Mary Blake, Louise Howard and Dora Rhoades. ‘The next meeting of the organiza- tion will be held February 23 at the home of Mrs. Frances Brady, 1263 North Durbin street. v0.8 oe Fair” to Entertainment. ‘The girls of the East Casper school have made the final arrangements for the “county fair” which will be given by thetr division of the Girl Reserves of the city, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’ciock in the Methodist church par- lors. Many of the guests wi'l come in cos- tume to add the old time atmosphere and the side shows as well as the booths where candy pop corn, and trinkets which will be sold will all add and in every detail the scheme is be- ing worked out by the girls them- selves.
