Oth: er wells are projected by the Reliance Oils, Limited, a Butte corporation, and by the Shamrock Oil company, which has some acreage in the Devil's Basin, a> weli as some other structures, and which conducted a stock selling cam: paign in Wisconsin last year. In the Howard Coulee near Round up the drill is reported to have-been making depth for more than a week following the setting of a string of 10-inch casing at 1,150 feet. This weil is now down more than 1,350 feet and instructions are to drill to the Kote- tai sands and then return to the Big Wall and complete that well for the Victory Ofl company. In Willow Creek, also a field near Roundup, the Montana Pioneer com- pany has finally drilled past a string of tools which has baffled the work- men for some time. The string was pushed to one side successfully, and casing set past the spot where the blockade took place. This well is now making depth and should be in the second Wall Creek withoyt much de- lay. In an effort to reorgantze the Gor- don Campbell-Kevin syndicate, Gordon Campbell hes announced at Lewis- town a plan of ofl development for the Rocky Ridge field during 1922. The first step is to complete the test well now down 1,720 feet in the northeast quarter of northeast quarter 16-35-3. ‘This is to be followed by manufacture of casing-head gasoline from the nat ural gas which is already flowing in vommercial quantity from that well. Other wells are to be drilled, spotted solely for oil and gas, and the latter, Mr. Campbell believes, will become a big “‘gasser.” Plans also include, when necessary, construction of an oil pipe line three and one-half miles long to the Great, Northern and a refinery. ‘The company is capitalized at $2,000, 000 C. M. Beecher of the United States bureau of minos, the county attorney and the county clerk and recorder of Fergus county have taken steps to prevent further violation of a law of the last legislature requiring the plug- ging of abandoned oil wells, which Mr. Boecher has pointed out, jeopardizes the entire Cat Creek field. It is said that ofl companies in various sections of Montana are violating the law. Helena and Bozeman stockholders in the Cat Creek 75 Oil company at a meeting in Helena decided to put down a well on their holdings in SW%SW% 16-15-30 in what is Hnown as the Ante- lope area of the Cat Creek field. The property of 40 acres was acquired last summer and had been partially fi- nanced when winter set in. The Home- stead company, one of the most suc cessful of the independents, with sev- eral producing wells, is to spud in shortly on the 40 acres to the east of the Cat Creek and the Jack Rab- bit company will put down a well on OFF AT OPENING 14 | |Reading .........0.. % 73% Liverpool and Buenos Aires He>. tron and Steel 51% Markets Continue to Set Sueit trans and ‘Trad. a4 Chicago Demand.
