They made the trip to New York in seven days, but on account of meeting heavy storms while in Iowa the re- turn trip took two days longer..At one stretch of road in Iowa, they had to pass through 150 miles of mud, making it in “intermediate.” With the exception of that locality though, they found the roads in very good condition and out of the 7,000 mile trip only 1,000 miles was made in rainy weather. The party also found that the most popular, the most dur- able and the most extensively used roads were of paving similar to the Salt Creek highway. In certain places the asphalt roads proved very danger- ous when wet and on a whole the ce- ment pavings were proving the most successful. Bia soit Nb i PULLIAM REINSTATED.
