THE TRI OF SPORTING NEWS CASPER GRID WARRIORS BATTLE GREAT IMPROVEMENT SHOWN BY TAYLOR DURING CASPER CAREER Experience Has Been Rich and Varied but Hard Test Will Come in Match with Pesek, Con- sidered by Some as Coming Champion In the past two years, or doing the time that Jack Taylor has made his residence in Casper, he is credited with having shown vast improvement of his knowledge of wrestling and to have gone far toward reaching the goal he is striving for, the wrestling championship of the world. The question which devotées and followers of the padded is far trying to solve has gone farena here are whether or not he ynough in his improvement campaign ‘to warrant his entering a finish match with Jobn Pesek, without doubt one of the greatest wrestlers in the world and a man who through sheer ability was widely known in the foremost ranks of the game before Jack Tay- lor was heard of as having any ser- fous aspirations for the championship. Pesek row is looked upon by some as the logical follower of Zbyszzko for championship. honors. He has never attained that distinction, although tt is possible that he could have easily been a pseudo champion if he had abided the dictates of the wrestling ring who for a time made and broke champions. Posek, known as one of the clean est men in the game decided to play the game as desired and strived 1¢ reach the pinnacle by ability alone. The result was that the men who helo the it refused to wrestle wit! hin, he was an outsider anc a man who was always at least dan gerously near to championship form, ‘With tho days of tho trust passed over and the championship again in the hands of a man who is a rea) champion, because he draws no line of between the men’ he will wrestle those he wont. Pe- sek has a chance, At least he is gen erally considered second best to Zbys- ‘ zko. His match with Taylor here Monday night will settle many questions. Is Jack Taylor really championship oz near championship caliber? If Tay lor Is able to win decisively from Pe- sek there will not be a ‘shadow o1 doubt in the minds of the wrestling fans of many sections of the country that he is near the top of the ladder. It he is able to hold his own with Pesek it will be a feather in his cap Gn the other hand ff Pesek e@imin ate# Taylor he will thereby eliminate a gteat number of men whom Taylor has defeated. Pesek can then imme. diately launch his attack to see whether he is capable of wrestling the ttle from Zbyazko or not, ‘Taylor is in the final stages of his training campaign for the big bout which should be the most interesting ever staged here. He announces that he experiences no ill effects from the automobile accident in which he fea- t last Monday. He therefore must be tHe finest of condition for his final showndown with Taylor. Pesek is also winding up his train- ing campaign. He has the advantage over Taylor for his chief training partner Tony Woblenski who work- ed out with Taylor for months here is again directing the attack which Pesek will launch on Taylor. No matter which man wins, fans -@re insured of one of the best and most vicious matches ever staged here. The personal feeling that ex- ists between the two principals is a real grudge which has been kept alive by the supporters of both men, so that the final showdown betweer these wrestlers would be tinged with enough bitterness to insure the tough: st kind of going and the hardest ef- tort on the part of each man to win. No announcements have been made yet of the preliminary numbers that have been arranged, but it ‘s under stood that George McLeod who is pro- moting the event had billed his card to make one of the highest class at tractions possible. That there was no advance in the price of tickets also ‘met with imme ‘ate approval here and four days be fore the match the greatest ticket sale that was ever noted here is re ported, ee MATRONS OF CITY JOIN IN PLANS TO MAKE Y. Both Cheyenne and Casper have beaten Douglas. Cheyenne walked off the Douglas ficld with a total Sevre of 127 to 7 in its favor.
