THURSDAY, JULY 14, 1921 MIDWEST DRILLING REPORT FOR WEEK SHOWS NEW WORK STARTED ] No Completions Listed But Good Progress in All Fields Is Reported; First Test in Upton Field Is Drilling at 395 Feet The Midwest Refining company has several holes in vari- ous stages of completion in the Salt Creek field, several of which were carried to the top of the sands and. then shut down. New drilling which was undertaken last week in vari- ous parts of the field is progressing satisfactorily. Three wells are rigging up, ond was spudded in Monday and anoth er is setting 1514-inch casing. One new well was started in Big Muddy on the Whiteside lease during the week and is now running 12%- neh casing at 290 feet. A well on section 8 in the west end of the field was shut down at 1,115 feet. ‘The past week also saw the start of the first Midwest test in the Upton field, on the northeast quarter of sec- tion © 3-47-65. This hole has now reached a depth of 35 feet.
