The municipal ing ground approximately is in the center, at the edge of Lake Mah- paleutah and abutting on Frontier park to the west. To the east of the camping ground, with both the ground and aerial operations of the alr mail ships in plain view of all sections of the camp, is the aviation field. Beyond Frontier park ‘is the Country club's golf vourse, said by Scotch experts to be one of the best in the west. Mile and half-mile speed ways are just beyond the outskirts of the camping ground and a four-mile course encircles it. Boulevards cgn- nect the various parts of the park; the Yelldwstone highway bisects it. The lakes provide first class bass, trout and nongame fishing, 12-pound trout and 4-pound bass having been taken from them. There are two free bathing beaches. Running water, free wood and a commissary, m@tor accessories and information bureaus are features of the camp grounds equipment. Years of continuous work will be required to make this big park all ‘that it is intended to become, but the weatures hereinbefore referred to, and many others, will be available to tour- Minnehaha Days wild west celebration July 26- 29 next. pe PS SY PARK COMMISSIONER ON WISIT TO CHEYENNE ( Special to The Tribune.) CHEYENNE, Wyo., June commissioner for Yellowstone park commissioner, has been renewing his acquaintances with oldtimers here. Judge Meldrum, who is. 75 years of age, was clerk of the territorial dis- trict court here fifty years ago. He was a candidate:in 1882 for congres- sional delegate from Wyoming, suf- fering defeat by M, E. Post, who has been dead now more than a third of a century. He was the last secretary of state of the territory of Wyoming. going out of office when the state ‘Was organized in 1890. He has been United States commissioner for Yel- lowstone park for 23 years. Despite his age Judge Meldrum is thoroughly abreast of the ideas of the times. Among innovations in judicial proced- ure which he instituted was trial by telephone, offenders against the park regulations who were caught at points separated from his headquarters by roads impassable from snow being Permitted to plead guilty by telephone and pay their fines to the park guard- fans who had captured and were hold- ing them.
