Pond was nominated today to be, re- ceiver of public moneys at Montrose, MEXICO AGAIN ATTRAGTS U.S CAPITAL, CLAIM Investment Possibilities Being Seized Here as Result of Stability Shown by New Government With the Harding administration favorable to the strong government which now holds the reign in Mexico and with recognition by the Amer- ican government but a matter of Weeks, according to the belief of those closely in touch with diplomatic: cir- cles. the sister republic whieh joins the United States on the south is hold- ing the attention of the investment in- terests of the United States, accord- ing to the statement of A. B. Hill, President of the Sinaloa Valleys Land company, who is a business visitor in Casper. The lands of the west coast of Mex. ico, especially the lands of Sinaloa state, which American interests are now colonizing, offer a productive field for investment, accordiag to Mr. Hill. Mr, Hill received his information on conditions in Mexico first hand. He has spent years on the border and in the Interior of Mexico and kncws the situation thoroughly. He will be lo- cated at the office of Harry N. Free during his’ stay in Casper. “The Mexican people, from the peon to the highest class have arms extend ed toward America and assistance. Under the peaceful conditions which have returned to Mexico, the antagon- ist to the American is fast disappear- ing from Mexico. For the first time in years there is a realization in Mex- ico that the United States can and will administer to the wounds of long trouble if given a chnnce. “After spending several months on the west coast of Mexico during which period IT had an opportunity to visit all sections of the coast, I am firmly convinced that the state of Sinaloa offers greater opportunities for in- vestment of capital than any other section of the Nori American con- tinent. “Having had the benefits of entree to personages of importance in that district, and possessing a knowledge of the language and customs of the Mexican people, I secured after days of dickering a tract of land known as Los Becos and El Carrizal, situated one and one-half miles from the sta- tion of Alhaute on the Southern Pa- elfic. “This property is situated in a ‘dis- trict which has produced especially fine sugar.eane for ony-years. The land is admirably adapted to the srowing of tomatoes, which will reach the American market from six weeks to two months ahead of any other district. Up to May 10 of this year, 840 carloads of tomatoes were shipped out of Sinaloa which netted the grower from $1.15 to $1.30 .a box: eA Of "the ‘crops’ of the state of Sinaloa can be successfully grown on this land, such as corn, beans, sugar, ‘garlic, dates, cucumbers. and the trop- ieal and semi-tropical fruits. “Culeiacan, the capital of the state of Sinaloa, is located about 15 miles northeast of the property which is about 85 miles from the ocean.
