The general tax of the state will not pay any por- tion except the interest on the bonds. The auto- mobile owners are naturally glad to do this serv- ice as they are saved in wear and tear upon their machines and in gasoline many times the amount which they pay. VGTE YES ON ROAD BONDS TOMORROW present — and contemplated, of the State High- way Commission are herewith submitted for your approval: There has been some criticism of the State Highway Department during the past two years, but most of it has been based upon misinforma- tion and lack of knowledge relating to the road conditions.. The Highway Department has been eriticized for work of contractors that was entirely outside of their control or direction, the depart- ment passing only upon the results obtained. A number of contractors failed because they ac- cepted contracts too low, but in each case the state got the benefit of their work. Never in the history of the United States were contractors re- quired to pay more for labor; and it is also true that the general results "were brought about at a labor cost as high as ever was paid in America. But in spite of this, few of our citizens would care to give up the roads constructed and take their money back. Actual construction work dur- ing the past two years has covered more than seven hundred miles of goods roads building, while contracts have been let for more than three hundred miles in addition, the money for which is available from the old bond issue. “YES” ON ROAD BONDS VOTE “YES” ON ROAD BONDS VOTE The State Highway Commission has control only over the state roads, covering the main art- eries running through the counties. Starting a work of this nature, the expense is necessarily higher than when it is fully under way. A great deal of engineering expense has been taken care of for roads that will be con- structed during the next tavo-year period. Two years ago, at the time of the legislative session, it was promised by the State Highway Commission and the lawmaking power that the overhead charge would not be greater than 15 per cent. The actual overhead charge during the biennium has been 7.8 per cent, which is considered a mighty good showing by those who know any- thing about road building. The engineering has been performed in an exceptional. manner and the completed roads certainly speak for themselves. Phone 142 VOTE YES ON ROAD BONDS TOMORROW. SALE The road from Casper to Douglas and Chey- enne is an exceptionally fine one and will soon be completed in its entirety. In every part of the state, the work has gone ahead with the greatest possible energy and it is certain that notwith- standing the high cost of materials and labor, the results have brought to the people, in actual sav- ing of time, machinery and money, several times the cest thereot. At this juncture-in our history it would be folly to suspend our road operations. We are right in the midst of pushing the main ies to the north, northeast and northwest; the people of those portions of the state are en- titled to the benefits that other portions have ahead with a]! the vigor and the command of the Highway Commission. At the same time, main- tenance should be carried on to keep the roads already constructed in the best possible condition. It is not believed that any taxpayer or other citi- zen, giving careful attention to highway conditions in Wyoming, will consider for a moment voting against the bonds at the election, May 10. , CHALMERS MAXWELL MASON TIRES “VOTE YES ON ROAD BONDS TOMORROW VOTE YES ON ROAD BONDS TOMORROW Coliseum Motor Company DEALERS FOR DODGE BROTHERS MOTOR VEHICLES You cannot go wrong in purchasing a Dodge Brothers car.
