~ ARCHBISHOP TO. TAKE PLAGE OF GIBBONS, CLAIM Creation of New Cardinal Baltimore District Not Anti pated by High Church- men for BALTIMORE, Md., March 25.— In view of the fact that there are two American cardinals and both in the east, prominent Baltimore Catholics said today they did not anticipate the creation of a new cardinal for Balti- more to succeed Cardinal Gibbons, who died yesterday. According to the usual procedure, the bishops of the Baltimore province gill meet in secret conclave within two months to select three names for recommendation to the pope for ap- pointment as Archbishop of Baltimore. ‘The cardinals's throne in th? cathedral will be divested of its brilliant red hangings which ‘il be replaced by. deep purple in anticipation of the coming of a new archbishop. ‘The new archbishop will, it {s un- Gerztood, be one of the three bishops recommended to the pope although he is not required to choose one of them. Among. the prominent ecclesiastics expected to be suggested for recom- mendation are bishop William T, Rus- sell of Charleston; Bishop Michael of St. Augustine and Bishop Thomas J. March 25.— “Would you go to hell to prosecute an imp, with Satan presiding on the bench?” Such was the interrogative made in an address here last night by Former United States Senator Bur- ton, who was forced to leave Bar- ton county recently by opponents of the Non-Partisan league who also tarred two other men who had ap- peared with Burton at meetings. The address was a reply to Attor- ney General Hopkins’ statements , thet Burton and the others should return to Barton county if they wanted prosecution of their assail- ants, The former senator rented the convention hall himself and spoke on “Mob Law versus Free Specch.” | He declared that the attorney gen- eral, the judge of the Barton coun- ty district and the county attorney there had ali the evidence they needed, and charged that they en- deavored to force him to go back to Barton county into hostile ter- “For,” he sald, “Governor Allen is a mob governor, Richard Hop- kins is a mob attorney general, and Judge D. This refining firm was to build a pipe line in the Osage filed and in fact the project was started and part of the line laid down when the funds seemed to run out and it was never finished. Many of. the oil producers expected to ship oil by this pipe ‘line and the contracts were signed in many cases ‘but the initial shipment was never made. The Omaha il and Refining com- pany has a small refinery at Omaha and it was this plant that was ex-) pected to handle the crude from the Osage field. The bankruptcy proceedings were brought by firms in Oklahoma that had shipped material to the Refin- ing company. ———___ DR. REICHENBACH Announces his removal to. 315-329-330 Midwest Refinery Co. Hutchinson Salt Lake Woman Gains 20 Pounds by Taking Tanlac She Declares “I wasted hundreds of dollars trying to get well before I got Tanlac, and I wouldn’t take anything in the world for the health and happiness this medicine has given me,” was the statement made by Mrs. S. J. Hutchin- son of 851 Chicago St., Salt Lake City. “I had so many complaints that life was miserable for me, and for years I never knew what a well day was. My stomach gave me no end of trou- ble, and I suffered from it 60 bad that many times I felt like death would have been welcome. The gas that formed from my undigested food caused my heart to paipitate until I thought I had heart trouble and I had such smothering sensations that I could scarcely breathe. I was so nervous that the least little thing an- noyed me, and was so restless that I spent many a sleepless night. I had no energy at all, and was so weak I couldn't do my housework. It seems to me like I took enough medicines to stock a drug store, and I even went to Los Angeles for my health, but nothing did me any good. “Tantac has proved such a godsend tome that I can never praise it enough. Why, it has given me such an appetite that I eat almost as much at one meal now as I used to eat in a week, and it all agrees with me per- fectly. I have gained about twenty pounds in weight, too, and am feeling splendid. It just seems wonderful to be in good health after suffering as much as I have, and words can't ex- press my gratitude to Tanlac.” |.
