If you give ‘cm something good, you can generally always draw a good following. So it has been here. In the past year, though, it develops that other towns in the Rocky Mountain region are just about as keen for good ball as Casper and it also develops that these towns have some real sports when it comes to backing up the team with both moral and financial support. For instance— Shortly before final organization of the Midwest league, the towns seeking admission in the league were questioned as to financial support that could be expected with a view to determining soundness in the venture. Sterling, Colo., came back with its reply so quickly that the organizers almost lost their breath. Sterling made its canvass and in one day reported $10,000 pledged and expected to raise as much more. Scottsbluff topped this smount with $15,000 in pledges reported. Laramie kicked in with $5,000 and Greybull turned in the tidy little sum of $4,000, Denver has gone down the line strong for its team, carrying the support of the Denver will tackle] ‘commercial body in addition to ts thousands of fans. aights: ot} Now what is Casper going to do? Casper hasn’s, been heard from yet, but it's a leadpipe cinch that it won't be long until the outside world will see a big cloud of dust rising over our oil tanks, and it won't be smudge either. - The Tribune is going to undertake this little job of starting the ball rolling here and it wants the support of every fellow in town who enjoys a good ball game. The whole town is hungry for baseeball, so it should be no effort to ring the bell the first day out.
