Readjusting Girl's Spine Cures Sleeping Sickness Case LENSBERG, Il., Feb. 24.—Miss Maggie Reichert, 20 years old, has been cured of a case of sleeping sickness, it is believed, through the simple means of readjusting sections of her vertebrae, which had become misplaced. The girl went to sleep Sunday and did not wake up until late Wednesday after a chiropractor had adjusted the verte- brae. All previous efforts to rouse her had failed. Leo Gold, the chiropractor, who claims to have cured the girl, said he worked on the theory that so-called sleeping sickness might be due to the same trouble which af- fected the ‘chattering girl,” Miriam Rubin. of Waukegan, Ill., who talked for eleven days before her dislocated vertebrae was adjusted.
