SUATUPHOLS REALTY LIGENGE LAW ON COAST Casper Realtors Working for} Statute Smilar to California Rulings to Raise Plane | of Dealings | In the first contest of the Califor- nia real estate license law to be prosecuted by a broker whose license was cancelled by the state real es- tate commissioner, Superior Judge A. F. St. Sure of Oakland has upheid the commissioner. Realtors of Cali-| fornia are jubilant over this decision. The case involved was that of F 3. C. Newman, doing business under he name of the “Peoples Realty Co.” in Oakland, whose license was cancelled by State Real Estate Com-| missioner Ray L. Riley, after the lat- ter had found Newman guilty of mis- representation. Newman appealed the case to the superior court and lost At the formal hearing before Com- missioner Ri evidence was submit- ted by the Oakland real estate board, and sustained by ; ‘ormer clients of Newman : the complaining witnesses, tending show that the broker had procured from owners of property exc'usi agency contracts by subterfuge while representing the ument he asked his clients to s be a simple brokerage agreement WORLD’S FASTEST GROWING VEGETABLE: N: | A wonderful cucumber, possibly, only exceeded in rapid growth by ‘certain edible bamboos and palms ‘and which grows from the blossom to an edible stage with amazing rapidity, has been produced by Fred A. Howard, the famous scientist of South Easton, Mass. When grown under proper con- ditions of soil and cultivation it requires but three or five days from the dropping of-the blossom to the table according to the climate in which the cucumbers are crown, To Distribute Seeds Later. When grown under these condi- tions, the day the blosscms zp f.om the vine, the tiny cucum- bers appear, and on that first day frequently reach an inch in length. On the second day, they are found to be greatly increased in size. On the third to fifth day they are of a size suitable for table use, and are then at their best, although they have not then attained full size. The texture of the flesh of the cucumber is described as infinitely more delicate and crisp than that of any other cucumber. This is due to its startlingly rapid wth. The fibers have no time to develop as in the case of slow growing cu- cumbers. The aroma and flavoi are also exquisitely delicate, Mr. Howard plans to arrange for tlc free distribution of the reed later on. Named for Hon. Joseph C. Sibley. “Mr. Howard’s desires are that the ypoblie shall have the advantage of -his wenderful new vegetable Marvelous cucumber ready for table in three to five days Newman had a membership in the Oakland Real Estate hoard but was expelled from that organization on a of unprofessional conduct out of complaints from his which the board's committee on grievances sustained. His trial by Commissioner Riley immediately fol- lowed. The foregoing is. of particular in- terest to the people of Casper for everyone here has bought, will buy or is buying real estate either ‘cr himself or his landlord. Casper, like a good’ many other communities has suffered from the misrepresentations of irresponsible men in real estate transactions to such an extent that a great many have fallen into the habit, at least *jokingly, of referring to all real es- tate men as crooks. 4 With this attitude in mind and in connection with the foregoing article the people of Casper and throughout Wyoming should know that we have in Casper a bunch of “live wire” real estate men in the Casper Real ics- tate board. This organization is lend- ing all possible assistance in having enacted into law by the present legts- lature a bill to license all real estate dealers in this state, this bill having originated with the Sheridan Real Estate board. With such a law in force the buying and selling public will be afforded the protection ob- tained in California and other states where such laws are now in effect. ‘The National Association of Real Estate Boards with which the Cas- per Real Estate board is affiliated is striving to put the realtor and the real estate business on a higher plane. They want to make this pro- fession a respected one and we owe them our fullest co-operation, Through their national association the real estate man has attained the position of realtor which carried cer- tain obligations working to the good of all whom realtors serve, as well as to the realtors themselves. ‘The na- tional association, out of its broad ex- perience and wisdom, has given to them a code of ethics, a rule of con- duct for them in the performance of their duties to their fellowmen to which they must adhere or suffer ex- pulsion from the association. The term “realtor” is copywritten and only a member of the National Association of Real Estate Boards may use same. By this sign may you be sure of the protection you should have in all your dealings in real estate as is shown in the above instance. growing REVENUE AGENT COMING TO ASSIST TAXPAYERS According an announcement from the Cheyenne office, Deputy Collector Edwin Barrett,of the rev- enue department will be in Casper to assist tux payers in filing their in- come tax returns from March 9 to 15. to Agate and Gem Cutting Send for price list or call.
