SUPPORT ROADS BILLS, CLAIM Wili Provide for Upkeep and Con- struction of Wyoming High- ways as Necessary to State's Progress {Special to The Tribune.) CHEYENNE; Jan. 12—Progress and expansion in the upkeep and construc- tion of Wyoming highways will be given the support of the present legislature if opinions of mémbers of both houses given today are any Gfiterion. As the members prepated to enter the law- making mill senators and representa- tives questiontd on good roids, made decided answers, asserting that food roads mean jirogress and expansioh in state development and as a result in- creased prosperity and comfort for the citizens. THE expression of seitiment on the part of the legislators followed a tan- vass made of the members by Fred B. Holdredge of Hot Spriags County, representing the Wyoming Good Roads Association, Mr. Holdredge declares that the present highway commission law as passed two years ago is bring- ing dbout satisfactory results: in he good Yoads drive. now being made a Pere int issue throughout the na- tion. In asking the support of the legisla- tors im good roads movements; Mr. Holdredgé points out that the present Wyoming law will be passed at the present session of thé Missouri legis- lature as a result of an investi of its merits by a committee of r perts from that state. He also used as an argument the statement that Wyoming yanks thirteen in the of the nation in taking adyantag federal aid for the improvement and construction of public higtiwdys-in the state. Wyoming has four highways of na- tioniil irhportance — the Yellowstone highway; Lincoln highway, the Back and Yellow trail, and the road known as the Custer Battlefield highwa: of which are important yoadwa 8, not only the people of the state, t alsé as a intans of attracting tourists to Wyoming cities and towns while en route to Yellowstone Natio: It is to make possible the<improye- ments and upkeep of these roads as Ww as other state roads that Mr. Hoid- redge is making his #ppeal. And if present indications wre any criterion good roads measur¢gs will meet with little opposition: cabift hear Wsterbrook, was found dead in his 4d when neighbors went to in- vedtigate bis absence.
