Market ‘Gossip - s~PAGE FOUR MARKET GOSSIP BYRON SHALLOW Old Holes Cleaned Out and Brought to Production by Allen Oil Company in Big Gas Field; Little At- tention Previously Paid to Chances The Allen Oil Company, drilling in the Byron field near Love,’ Wyo., is developing a nice shallow oil pool there in the great gas field. ; The Allen firm has been drilling in the Byron district for some months past and a shallow oil sand years, but because of the heavy gas pressure to be had from the deep pay and the possibility of finding but little attention to the. shallow oil. Now the Allon has cleaned out sev- eral old holes to this shallow oil sa@hd and last week two more were bea tdet et each of which will make a small and which will pay for the ca besides leaving a small surplus of divi- dends. One of the old holes was thought to be a duster, but when the casing was pulled the well flowed oil from the shal- low sand and this led to its cleaning out and being placed on the pump. N.. N-~' Ns. Sand Hills Well Shot. The Sand Hills Oil company’s well on section 9 of the Ferris field was shot with good results, oil rising over 1,600 feet in the hole within a short time. The hole will be cleaned out and placed on pump. Muddy Creek to Be Drilled. W. R. Fisher and company, a bank- ing firm of Minneapolis, has taken leases on iands in the Muddy Creek field youth of Rawlins, Wye., where one or more test wells will be startet in the spring. The drilling site will be near the Bell'Braer well wher? strong showings of gas developed . be- fore a shutdown of operations in the fall. Union Takes Piney Lease. The Union Petroleum company of Ta: coma, Wash., has secured a 40-sere lease in -the Big Piney field, Lincoln county, Wyo,, on which the Piney- Crescent well has been drilled to, a depth of 859 feet.. The same company has purchased the drilling outfit of the Petrogas corpération and will remove it to the well site to replace one de stroyed by an explosion: Western States Operations. Western States well cn section 25-88- 65 of the Lance Creek field is making 60 barrels a day under pump and the farthest east well in the field, owned hy the same company on section 28-3565, is yielding about 75 barrels a day. Bessemer-Blackstone Well Flowing. Flows in regular é#wo-hour periods have been reported from the Salt Creek field in the Bessemer-Blackstone assc- ciation well on. section 13-3979. This Producer is in the segond Wall crek sand atoabout 2,450 feet. These regular flows lead the officials of the company to believe that the well will be one of} the best.
