The active direction of the bouts probably will be under the direc: tion of George Mcleod, who was suc: cessful in this work last season. Although the actual date of holding the tourney this season has not been announced, it probably will be held the latter part of February or the first part of March. ing for the last 24 hours accompanied by an appeal for the authorities to as- sist in locating him, Aitho friends be- lieve he may have been rétained for a long trip or have broken down out- ‘side te city, considerable anxiety was A blind man states that he can tel! BOXING TOURNEY Wyoming and Chicago Giants Will Both Weigh ip at About 220 Pounds When Referee Gives Word on Monday Night; Altitude Favors Taylor | Jack Taylor arrived in Casper last night confident that he would be able to win in his match Monday night in the Iris Theater against Steve Savage. Taylor appears to be in good shape, having recovered from a slight attack of eye trouble which bothered him in his match in Chicago when Stanislaus Zbyszko defeated the Wyoming champion. Savage is expected here late today and will workout at the Cas- per Athletic Club Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Taylor goes ‘through his final training exercise tonight at the same club. , Comparing the two wrestling giants physically, it is hard to pick the win- ner. Taylor stands nearly 6 “feet tall, while Savage will not stack up much shorter. Big Jack weighs about 220 pounds while the Chicago opponent will tip the Fairbanks between the 220 and 225 pound marks, Savage probably will appear as the huskier' of the two and his previous record :in matches in- dicates that he uses this sturdiness to rough his opponent. Both men are comparatively fast on their feet, although the advantage Tay- lor will have from having wrestled in a higher altitude-may make him’ ap- pear the speedier of the two. Taylor, who has been using his half Nelson and crotch with the drop to the floor as a climax to this hold, has shown his ability as master of a num- ber of other just as good holds in re- cent battles. While it is recognized that the “flop-to-themat” hold is his favorite, he undoubtedly will find it dif- ficult to use this on his heavy op- in 20 minutes ‘recently. This same Zbyszko won from the present cham- pion, Ed (Strangler) Lewis, in Decem- ber, 1917. In April, 1919, Zbyszko won two falls and the mateh from Joe Stecher, retiring champ, in a match held in Kansas. City. In May of the same year, Zbyszko won a_ one-fall match from Lewis in Chicago, In November of the same year, Zbys- zko won from Lewis in a one-fall strug- gle in Boston. As early as 1918, Stecher and Zbys- zko were wrestling draw matches. In February of 1918, the man Sayage re- cently defeated, battled two hours to a draw, neither being able to secure a fall. In November, tye same year, the same two wrestlers went an ‘hour to a draw decision, neither getting a fall. Thus it will be seen that this man Zbyszko; defeated by Savage since 1917 has met and defeated Lewis, pres- ent world’s heavyweight wrestling champ, three times; and that he was able to defent Joe Stecher, until re- cently title holder, once, and hold him to a draw ot two different occasions.
