hi » pe 21 nS eae ee Big Horn County Factions Asked to Discuss Division Project at Home Before Going to Cheyenne county seat, Regardless of whether the southern/ Big Horn counties do-or do not favor the project, the county-division bill is to be introduced with the backing of the Lovell Commercial club, which has conducted a referendum and survey Within the boundaries of the proposed mew county and has found there a preponderence of sentiment in favor} of county division and a sufficient as- #essed valuation and population to com- ply with the county-division law. The proposed new county, a nffme for which has not been selected, would be the g@maliest in Wyoming, having an area ef approximately 1,000 square miles. It would reduce the area of the Big Horn county approximately one-third and Would leave in the parent county am- ple assessed valuation and» population | to conform to the county division stat-| ute. The new county would abut on Montana on the north and on Park and Sheridan counties: on the west and east respectively. Its southern boundary at} the western end would be 30 miles South of the Montana line and at, the eastern end.24 miles south. The south- ern end would be about 20 miles north of Basin, county seat of Big Horn} county, and 16 miles south of Lovell,; the proposed county of the projected new county. Two of Big Horn coun- ty’s three representatives in. the next legislature reside within the boundar- fJes*of the proposed new county. Big Horn county's only state senator resides south of the projected new county, as also does the third member of the low- er’ house, | Goodrich Returns With Elk, Was Not Snowbound, He Says Leon C. Goodrich, who has been in the Jackson Hole country on a hunt- ing trip’for the past three weeks, and who was reported snowbound west of the diyide, arrived home Tuesday bringing with him a large elk, the spoi's of the trip. The snow situation was not as seri- ous, Mr. Goodrich says, as was reported by Farrar, who must have left the regular trail in making his way across the divide if he encountered four feet of snow. Mr. Goodrich reports about § inches of snow west of the divide and prob- ably two feet in the passes which were traversed in returning to Dubois. A four horse team and wagon made the return trip from the camp easily. Other members of.the party returned to the hunting grounds after replenish- ing camp supplies, being determined to capture more game.
