The opening of the oil fields in 1912 not only marked the birth of a new industry, but it also stimulated the growth of all lines of business. For instance, in 1912 the Telephone ‘Company was operating 10 exchanges. Today we are opevating 34 exchanges in the state. In 1912 we were serving 3,810 subscribers; today over 16,000 subscribers are receiving service. In 1912 our plant in Wyoming represented an investment of $1,260,000; with the completioa of our building program now unday way, our investment in Wyoming will amount to over $4,- 000,000. - This has largely been accomplished in the face of great difficul- ’ ties in securi#z material and under largely increased costs of labor and money. We have faith in Wyoming and in the spint of its people who are building a great commonwealth. As far as we may be permit- ted, we wish to do our full share by furnishing adequately a nec- essary, system of communication.
