| COPPER MINE CLOSED DOWN INDEFINITELY (Special to The’ Tribune.) ENCAMPMENT, Wyo., Oct. 12.— The Rich Charter Oak Mining company has shut down the Charter Oak mine, the only copper property which has been operating in this region for sev- eral years, and is transferring supplies and men to Tolland, Colo., where they will be utilized at other property owned by the company. Excessive cost of operation is the reason announced tor this shutdown at the Charter Oak. GOAT OF DOUGLAS: BANKER TAKEN BY ‘HOOCH THIEF WHILE HE SITS IN CHURCH (Special to The Tribune.) That is wh nappened to R. M. Wood, banke Mockmaster and, city councilman. When Sheriff Messenger, arrested an unknown, who refused to. give “his name, who was in possession of two, gallons of “‘hooch,” the only. sugges- tion of the identity of the prisoner was the name “R. M. Wood," which ap- peared on a tag stitched to the leather coat he was wearing. The subsequent investigation resulted in identifi¢ation of the coat as the Douglas alderman’s and the “John Doe” prisoner now is held for larceny as well as violation of the liquor law.
