MINNESOTA FAIR TO FEATURE OlL EXHIBIT OF MIDWEST PRODUCTS Industry of Casper and Wyoming to Receive Valuable Advertising in Comprehensive Display of Crude and Refining Products from This State The magnitude of Wyoming’s oil industry, poth production and refining ends, will be brought forcibly to the attention of iundreds of thousands of Minnesota State fair visitors this year y an extensive display of refining products, according to C. R. Parker of the oil inspection department of the state of Minne- sota, who has spent some two weéks in Casper'assembling such cibgaralna detent storits Saba te Nad cts: an exhibit with the co-operation of re- finery officials. “Our people know little about the oil industry in Wyoming,” said Mr. Park- er today. “I, myself, was surprised at the progress of oil development in Wyoming. I knew Casper had refin- eries but I had no idea of their size and scope of operations. So it is with most of the people in Minnesota. The Minnesota state fair has a daily attend- ance of between 100,000 and 300,000 people and the Wyoming oil industry will e valuable advertising from the exhibit we are now preparing.” The oil exhibit will be held in con- nection with the dairy and food «x- hibi€ in the state dairy and food build- ing on the fair grounds and will be designed as an educational medium. For this display the Midwest Refining com- pany, one of the largest in the coun- try, has supplied Mr. Parker, repre- sentative of the state of Minnesota, with samples of different petroleum Rroducts, from the raw crude oil up to the many refined products such as gasoline, naptha, kerosene, different of distillates, waxes, lubricating oils and fuel ofls.. The pres- ethods of inspecting gasoline and kerosene will be demonstsated by in- spectors. The increased demand for motor fuel and refined products and reports of a threatened shortage have aroused great interest among the motor public, which constitutes the great bulk of popula- tion thes and it is to satisfy pub- lic curiosity and interest along the line that the Minnesota state fair has turned its attention for the first time to a comprehensive display. ‘A distinction falls on Wyoming and Casper in this connection in that the Midwest Refining company was asked to furnish this exhibit. Due credit will be given this company and Casper in labeling the display. The recognition given the local refinery also brings home a realization of the completeness of the local plant, which is fast de | State Highway Department, Office of District Engineer.
