TODAY’S NEWS OF THE SPORT WORLD OVER GGLENTRIES FOR BIG TRAGK TAYLOR SLAMS OPPONENT TO MAT AND FIELOS MEET FOURTH OF JULY Motorbike, Automobile, and Horse Racing to Round Out Great Athletic Program: With Baseball Game as Additional More than eighty track stats and field athletes will compete to- morrow afternoon at the Natrona county fair grounds i in the first an- nual track and field meet to be held under the auspices’ of the Irish- American Athletic club. The meet starts at 1:30 o'clock. with the century dash. The best track material at the two refineries, of the Attraction Sunday high school, the Mullin club and the American Legion post will com- pete for a silver loving cup. Besides the track events there win} be motoreycle racing, automobile and horse racing. There has been an un-| usually large number of entries in the} fivemile motorcycle race. Th addition a, baseball game with the American Legion nine against one of the other fast teams in the Twilight) Baseball league is scheduled. The Mul-| lin Club team decided not to play when| it found two or three of its best play- ers out of the, city on the Fourth of| July. The Burlington may take its are a number of added events for which entries will be received on the day of the meet. These are, large- ly for smaller boys and athletes of the grade schools, All bicyclists who have speedy bikes can enter any of the bike} races by asking for entry blanks at the| entrance to the fair grounds. The track is being put in good shape for all of the dash events and with three watches catching the time, some good records may be hung up. The_ high ‘altitude in’ Wyoming is expected to cut down some of the time because} in: practice, the local athletes have not] heen able to make their usual time in} their favorite events. Valuable prizes in the form of arti- cles of merchandixe donated by local stéres will be awarded winners in events for which gold, silver and bronze med- als are‘not being precented.
