MISSION ARCHITECTURE TO SET OFF ATTRACTIVE APARTMENT ON GRANT BUILT BY CHARLES ANDA of the new modern apartment being built here and was inspired by the seemingly never-ceasing de- mand for quarters in which to live. “The Albuquerque” is not one of the mushroom type of apartments, some of which have sprung up here in the past three years in order to give relief to strained living conditions. Its con- struction is along classical lines of architecture, involves the best"of mate- rials, and is designed to be an addition to the civic beauty of the city. Its cost will he approximately $75,000. The building. 13 to be. one story in height, built: of brick and wood. Its lines of architecture will be of the mis-} 149 sion style, very popular in southern California, The apartments, 16 in nun. ber, will surround a large court nor- dering on which will be a wide veranda which runs around three sides, An arched entrance will open to the court and the apartments inside. The 16 apartments will have an| equivalent of five rooms to cach, in- cluding Mving room, dining room, buf-| fet kitchen and a dressing room. Two disappearing beds are provided in each apartment with the exception of two in which is an extra bedroom. Built-in features are provided in the kitchens. Each apartment has an independent entrance, basement and individual fur- nace and hot water heating plant. A nine-foot driveway will be provided on each side.
