May 5.—Application for the de of the road between Lusk and,the Lance Creek oil fields, and the road south from Manville to the Platte county line, in Niobrara county as state high s has been made to the state highw commission by the county commissioners of Niobrara coun- ty, who have appropriated ,000 for the improvement of the Lusk read and $10,000 for the improvement of the Manville road, in conjunctio: with the state highway department The commission: desire} the designation of these two routes as} state highways in lieu of the designa tion of the Lusk-Hat Creek road as al} state highway. This latter road con-} nects with Edgemont, the commissioners | base their claim that altho this road is in Wyoming, it is more of @ feeder to the Dakota town and that the route! proposed by them is the logical north and south route in the eastern part of obri the state and is a portion of the pro-| posed Lance Creek-Rock Creek route extending from Bosler, in Albany coun ty, where it connects with the Lincoln Highy north, and intersecting the| Yellowstone highway in Platte county, the extension south, from Manville to the Yellowstone highway, the section of the North Platte Riv highway be-} tween Manville and L¢sk in Niobrara county, extending north from Lusk to] Ohio Town, in the Lance Cr oil} fields, and thence north to Upton, in Weston county, intersecting the Black and Yellow trail, from which point it can be extended north to the Montan: line.
