PAGE FOUR BlG STORAGE I HOMER DISTRICT Five and a Half Millions Spent on Tanks to Hold Oil from Biggest Field (By Louisiana News Bureau.) SHREVEPORT, Ia, Mar. 81,—With its record as the World's greatest oil producing field alreatly established oyer the claims held by Burkburaett, the Homer wonder pool in Claiborne Parish is steadily increasing its flush and set- tled production, every company is add- ing to storage equipment to take care of the growing production and storage fa- cilities for 12,000,000 barrels ef crude oil, roughly valued at $3,000,000, soon will be campleted, accordinge to officials of the companies holding the proper- ties. Jmmense storage tanks already have been erected on the “tank farms" of the Standard, Simms, Gilliland, Vanadium, Sinclair, Gulf, Texas, White oil com- panies and Louisiana Refining Cor; poration. The majority of the new tanks are in the immodiate vicinity of Minden and Sibley. About 220 of these tankd are planned and mon; than 26 per cent of this number are complete and recently have been put into service. Work on the second 8-inch pipe line of the Standard Oil Company leading from the prolific Homer field, is nearing completion. The Guif Refining Com-! pany’s 6-inch line connecting Bull Bayou and Homer with the East Texas outlet, is completed, and is running 10,- 000 barrels of ‘oil dai A total of about 1,000 is to be expended in the Homer field for storage tanks. One tank costs approximately $27,000, Pipeline construction in the field is even more expensive, due to the condition of the roadways and the diffi- culty experienced in getting materials to the locations, As one operator appropriately ex- pressed it, the roads to the Homer fields : Today’s Markets by Wire : adage ug oe harap hen org oheg erect the it it for th benefit of itself, Gates vowhigr nev d the qwners of a one-thirg interest i the Perryman tract. ‘The Mcintosh lease belongs jointly to the Gates com: pany and the lugers. and Refiners, and each of these holds a third interest | in the Perryman lease, It ig understood that the Producers and Refiners cor- Bet income ftom the Biant and net income from PI share will be about $200,000 a y Chappell Sells Royalties, | A check for $25,000 has been i Chappell Oil for. its \ id the of Why Measles May nt "| the royalties in the pipe line run of the . The most important development is the entrance into the field of the Union Oil compeny of California, which is also drilling Sunset leases in the Lance Creek field. The Union is erecting camp and derrick on the) Alyerson ranch, six miles southeast of Upton, on section 28-47-64. Section 13-47-665 of the Ammerman ranch, three miles southeast of town, has been ected for the location of a second well.
