MARKET G0ca1P | AND FIELO NEWs: Cat Creek Oil Most Valuable for Lubricating Purposes in \ Western Fields Tests of samples of oil from the cat | Creek structure in the middle of Mon- tana, made here recently, show that the oil has more lubricating stock and is a higher grade of lubricating oil than any other grade found in the West outside of the Graber pool in Oklahoma, ‘The test here showed that there is} practically 60 per cent gasoline content to the oil taken from the earth in the Cat Creek, Mont., field by the Frantz Corporation, The Royalty and Producers Com- pany owns the royalty interest in the 28,000 acres in this recently discovered field. Carter to Resume Work. The Carter Oil Company, in the south- ern extension of the new Bolton field, southwest of Casper, is soon to resume | drilling at a depth of about 1,500 feet. If oil is found in the Carter holdings, the Bolton field will be extended about four more miles to the south and into Carbon County. Gus Hardendorf, one of Wyoming's veteran oil scouts, has been appointed manager of field operations for the San Juan Petroleum Company, which re- cently secured holdings in the new Bol- ton field. Hardendorf has drilled in many fields in this country as well as in South America. Recently he has been in Kansas fields. Besides the 640 acres of land jn the Bolton field near here, the San Juan Company has 2,500 acres under lease in the old San Juan County, Utah, field and 320 acres of land under lease in the Rock River field. The San Juan field was discovered in 1907, but has never had market facilities. Two drilling machinés are on the land in this field and other material is being moved to this location.
