On every hand and in every way permitted by the weather work is going on, this applying especially to the work of laying plans and securing dquipment for intensive work when spring opens. The coal shortage has combined with the weather as'a handi- cap to the oil men and this still con- tinues to be a factor to be reckoned with, altho in 60 days it is thot there will be plenty of coal, The Wyoming-Dry Piney-La Barge Oil company is making every effort to haul materials and machinery to the field and with the improved roads will continue land supplies on their ground pre ratory to the drilling which will start as soon as the weather per- mits. The Big “Piney “oil and Development company which will drill on the Corder ranch, is doing the best possible to de- liver lumber and machinery to the und, and hi omplished much in spite of bad roads and weather, They have a complete standard rig and drill- ing outfit, and great things are expect- ed from their activities. Operations on all of the Lincoln-Ida- lho properties have been suspended un- ul February 1, this being made neces- y by a combination of lack of coal, of machinery to arrive, snow, bad roads and worse weather. As soon as possible this company will begin operations in all of their wells, starting at well No. 3, in the Dry Piney to field, which is already spudded in. A 12-inch pipe line is to connect the city water system with the 8-inch water lines of the Standard refinery west of the city so that in case ¢ a fire and a breakdown of the city system, the water from the Standard can be cut over for immediate use. The pipe for this line was ordered some time ago by the water and sewer ommittee in order that there should be no delay in the work. This connects the Standard pumping system with the 12-inch permanent pipe line circuit of the city. The water pressure at the “‘tandard plant is a little higher than that in Casper.
