Few years in our history have afforded such cause for thanksgiving. to Modern: System. of - Operation | The past year has witnessed the demobilization. of our armies and the re- turn of peace. The home. ties have been strengthened and renewed by the return from service of Wyoming’s sons, who have helped and are ever ready to make any sacrifice that the ideals of America may be preserved. The year has been a prospérous one. The natural resources of our state are being developed to an unprecedented extent. Our desert lands are rapid- ly being. turned into fertile farms making homes for many contented people. It is fitting then that one day in the year should be devoted to the contem- plation of these and other blessings and to make grateful acknowledgement to Almighty God for his loving kindness, Now Therefore, I, Robert D. Carey, Governor of the State of Wyoming, by virtue of the authority vested in me and in accordance with the time honored custom of our country do hereby designate and set apart Thursday, the 27th day of November as a day of thanksgiving and praise to be kept and observed by all the people of the State. On that date let us forgo our ordinary work and employment and assemble in our usual places of worship where we may recall all that God has done for us, to render thanks for all the blessings of the year, and to ask that Divine Providence which has béen so merciful to us may be graciously continued in the years to come. In Witness Whereof I haye hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the great seal of Wyoming. Done in the city of Cheyenne, this 14th day of November, 1919. X ROBERT D.
