RIDAY, AUGUST 8, 1919 UNTING LODGE. OF LOCAL GLUE 5 NEAR FINI ake of the Woods Club Not Af- fected by Cloudbursts and Floods in Beauty Spot of Famous Dubois Region High water and flood conditions mear Dubois did not interfere wth! the construction work on the new club house being built near there by the ke-of-the-Woods Hunting and Fish- ing club. This is the word which W.|the girls of the W. T. C. club and|the little boy was under t W. Keefe, who was near Dubois at/their escorts at a dancing party at|of physicians at the Children the time of the flood danger, brot/the Norris residence, South Wolcott | pital. back to Casper. The new club house is more than two-thirds completed and already it is described as a beauty spot in the won- derful mountain scenery of this re- gion. The flood and cloudburst did not stop the work on the cabins or the club house being built in this region, altho the construction work on the club house will be delayed be- cause of the damage done thousands of feet below the club house near Dubois. Mr. Keefe is reconciled in the loss of his motor car during the high wa-! ter when he starts talking about the wonderful club house being built for Casper members of this new club. He described the fishing in this region | as wonderful and that mountain trout is plentiful in another lake about three miles away from the Lake-of-the Mountains on the banks of which the club house is being erected. The club house, when completed, is expected to cost about $5,000. It is built of hewn logs and the whole building is being erected by excell- ent workmen. It is doubtful if the club house can be extensively used this year because several bridges have ben washed out and the final work of building probably will be delayed. A good road that can be used by a stage is the connecting line between the club house and the town of Du-) bois 12 miles away. NUMBER OF BIRTHS IN JULY QOUBLE THAT OF | + DENTHS—24 15 COUNT Births in Casper during the month of July more than doubled the rec- ords made by the grim reaper, accord-| ing to figures kept by.-Dr. W. E, Downie, registrar of vitala-atatistics here, There were only ten deaths during the month and 24 births were reported during July. A majority of the deaths were! caused by diseases of old persons and many of the deaths during the month} were residents who were reaching old age. One accident was reported in this list of deaths and one death came as a result of a suicide. There | was an unusually small number of | deaths of a violent nature considering the large amount of work of the in-| dustrial nature done in the oil fields surrounding Casper. 4 MY AND NAVY CLUB TO don at their beautiful summer home, FURNISH PUBLIC MUSIC the Bear Trap, on Casper mountain, i * * *. The return of many musicians among nearly 300 members of the service club here has resulted in the forming of plans for real musical organization for the city. _: There are at least two bandmasters in the city who have led bands in the army and an additional leader as material to train the sérvice band- men. ——_——_>_____ PINE STREET GROCERY Phone 1125-W. 22 Ib.
