They are down at the present time to 1,364 fect, having just entered the water sands with good showing of ainbow colors. The drilling so far has been through straight shale, and hey expect to enter the third sand soon. The company has been shut iown since spring from verious causes, and the drying up of Kirby eveek has been the main cause for uspension of active work. A pipe line has been laid from the Larson homestead, and plenty of water is now available for drilling. They have 1,115 feet of 8% inth casing set, and are confident that the Top Fron- tier sand, which is the oil wing sand in this dome, will be penetrated for a ood well inside of thirty |days. With the completion of the first well, the company will open a branch office in Thermopolis, and should a sufficient quantity of oil be | produced to warrant it, an intensive development campaign in that part of the Kirby creek field will be inaugu- |rated.
