The total output of the oil fields is slowly but | steadily increasing, says the weekly summary of the Oil City Derrick. The main additions are from North Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. The increase in Oklahoma is more steady as many large wells are being found, and the output has a substantial foundation ‘in the production from the oil fields. Kansas is also adding to its productive \territory, and some of the late comple- tions are of large size. A year ago | the production of the three divisions |mentioned aboye was about 400,000 barrels daily. It is now practically | 500,006 barrels. Kansas, Healdton and Cushing are producing less than |a year ago, but the other districts of |Oklahoma are credited with more, | while the large addition comes fram | North Texas. Operations in Oklahoma are in-! |creasing fast. The results obtained! within the last few months have stimu-| |lated producers in all sections. Dur- ling the past week the most interest- |ing feature of the news from the! state was the completion of two good | | wells in the deep sand of Kay coun-| |ty. The oil was found at 3,900 feet. | The wells are making 300 and 100) barrels respectively, and are located jsome distance from the 1,000-barrel | | producer obtained in the district last January. The success of the tests in |the deep sand will cause more to be drilled to that level, The Osage coun- \try had many completions, but the majority were light producers, with a few up in the hundred of barrels, and some failures. In the southern part of | the state several tests have showings | warranting the expectation that they | will open new fields. The new completions were not large, but the wells which were closed down on aceount of the storm are all at work and the production is hold-) ing close to the 80,000-barrel figure. More interest is shown in the wildcat operations where tests indicate the possibility of new fields being dis- covered. Wyoming cperators are active in the search for new fields or in the, development of those already partly | proven by former tests. The pro-; dueers are anxiously waiting the ac- tion of congress on the leasing bill, and if this should be passed more work will be started at once, and the produetion of the state increased. | — | POSTM ASTER’S JOB AT LUSK TO BE FILLED WHY BE SATISFIED WITH ORDINARY BUTTER WHEN YOU CAN GET - - - Natrona Butter At 60c Per Lb.
