Birthday Party at | Van Burgh Home Friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Van Burgh, 440 East ‘Third, Thursday evening, the occa-! sion being a birthday surprise for the latter. A very enjoyable evening was, spent with music and good things to! eat. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. D. P. G, 0 Marriage Thursday at Patridge Home Miss H. L. Patridge and Thomas J. Kirkmyer were married at 8:30 ‘Thursday evening at the bride’s home, 236 Botolph, the Rev. W. L. Edwards of St. Mark’s church officiating. Thirty-five guests witnessed the cere- mony and enjoyed the five-course supper that followed. 1 The bride has a large circle of friends in Casper. Mr. Kirkmyer is a foreman at the Midwest plant. Af- ter a honeymoon spent in California the couple will return to Casper to, make their home. oo 6 Miss Sams’ Pupils to Appear in Recital. Miss s is giving a series of three re- a week apart, and different s will appear in each. o 8 8 c Civic Club to Sell Flowers for Charity Following the usual custom in the past, the Casper Floral company is turning over the sale of carnations Saturday and Sunday to the Casper Civie club, the proceeds of which will be used toward the purchase of an iron fence for the cemetery. Mrs.’ M. P. Wheeler will have charge of the Mothers’ Day sale, and a booth will be installed in the lobby of the Oil Exchange building. The plan has proved very popular in the past and has netted the club a tidy sum every year. The floral company is deserving of commenda- dation for its hearty co-operation. * * 6 Banquet Tonight at Henning. At the Henning hotel tonight re- turned officers of the army and navy will gather for dinner before going to the military ball that is to be given at the Masonic temple. The princi- pal ide@ in giving this is to give the men a better opportunity of becom- ing acquainted. <0 * s * The Monday Afternoon Bridge club will meet at the home of Mrs. James G. Weiderhold on Monday afternoon, May 12. “8 * The Sunday school of the Baptist church is holding a picnic today at Garden Creek park. In a recent con- test the men and boys of the Sun- day school were the losers to the women and girls and it fell to them to give some sort of entertainment to the winners.
