Confidence that a major share of the Lance Creek oil will be treated in the Casper refineries has been strengthened by authentic informa- tion that the capacity of the Stand- ard plant will be doubled this year and that the Illinois Pipeline com- pany hes surveyed a line from Lance k to Glenrock, where, it is be-j lieved, it will connect with the eight- inch line from Casper to the Big Muddy. Glenrock rumor, however, connects the pipeline survey with the Mutual refinery there, which up to this time has been unable to con- tract sufficient oil to work it to ca- pacity. The smaller popular stocks had a strong ifning last night at the local! exchange, while a watchful waiting market characterized the trading in the better issues. Only 10 sales were made on the board during the eve- ning all of which effected stocks marked under the 25-cent level. A! new stock was offered on the board: to traders last night, when Fargo oil was listed at the $1.50 mark. Con- siderable interest was manifest in the newly listed issue, but no trading culminated. Bessemer soared to new levels with one sale of a 200-share block being reported at 30 cents. Boston-Wyoming was around the 60-cent figure. Consolidated Royalty started to the dollar mark, with small blocks being offered around 99c. Kirch- ner of the Powder River syndicate. The real Powder River field is north of Powder River station, 39 miles west of Casper, embracing four full townships, This land lies north of the Powder River station on the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy and the Northwestern railroads, where the Midwest Oil company has the Notchez well and the Ohio Oil com- pany, both Standard Oil subsidiaries, have other oil and gas wells, and are drilling more, and where Winona has been drilling for the past year and elready has an oil showing. It appears from the present re- ports that an enormous amount of activity is underway in this field, and it is the concensus of opinion of the local people that as soon as the River syndicate finishes Winona’s well that there will be a stampede for leases. It is the be- lief of a large number of the higher- up oil men thet Powder River will be the sensational field of Wyoming very soon. Winona owns some of the best land in this field and fully ex- pects shortly to place another outfit to further develop éts holdings. —— Palace of Cortez Holds Relics of Spanish Conques 1 i { i MEXICO CITY. (By Mail.)— The palace of Cortez, in the suburbs of Coyoacan, is to be reconstructed by the government and used as a museum for relics of the Spanish conquest. The structure, 400 years old, has been allowed to fall into ruins. In the court yard are ancient trees, under which Hernan Cortez and his familiars were wont to rest. These are hundreds of years older than the ancient building itself. The chapel attached to the palace is still in good condition. - NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC. Anyone found trespassing on my land on So.
