COOK The cool fighter atways wins and so there is no need to become panic- stricken. Avoid fear and crowds. Exercise in the fresh air and prac- tice the three C’s: A Clean Mouth, a Clean Skin, and Clean Bowels. To Carry off all the poisons that ac- cumulate within the body and to ward off an attack of the influenza bacil- lus, take a good liver regulator to move the bowels. Such a one is made up of May-apple, leaves of aloe, root of jalap, and is to be had at any drug store, and called “Pleasant Purga- tive Pellets.” _ If a bad cold develops, go to bed, wrap up, drink freely of hot lemon- ade and take a hot mustard foot-bath. Have the bedroom warm but well ventilated. Obtain at the nearest drug store “Anuric Tablets” to flush the kidneys and control the pains and aches. Take an ‘“Anuric” tablet every two hours, together with cop- ious drinks of lemonade. If a.true case of influenza, the food should be simple, such as broths, milk, butter- milk and ice cream; but it is impor- tant that food is given regularly in order to keep up the patient’s strength and vitality. After the acute attack is passed, which is gen- erally from three to seven days, the system should be built up by the use of a good iron tonic, such as “Iron- tic’. tablets to be obtained at some drug stores, or that well known N) blood maker and herbal tonic’ made from roots and barks of forest trees —sold everywhere as Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery.—Adv. HARD ON SHOES ? “I marched through the mud of Flanders, through a large part of the Lorraine sectors, and lastly from Chateau Thierry to Fismes, and my shoes with Nedlin Soles are still in good condition. For five months I alternated these shoes with two other pairs, which are now worn out, but the Nedlin Soles look as if they had another five good months of wear left in them.” Written by Lieut. Edgerly Austin, Americ: expeditionary Forces, France—October 17th, 1918. This is exceptional service, all army men will agree. Civilians rarely give their shoes usage such as this; but if they are hard on shoes, and want to cut their shoe bills down, let them try Nedlin-soled shoes. These shoes are obtainable at most shoe stores in many good styles for men, women and children. Or have your old shoes re-bottomed with Nedlin Soles. You will find these scientifically made‘soles are comfort- able and waterproof, as well as long- wearing. ‘They. are made by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, who also make Win foot Heels— guaranteed to outwear all other heels.
