The valve lifters, rollers and pins have been made larger which will reduce wear. A tension spring has been placed in valve lifter to keep roller on cam constantly which relieves valve spring of all work except seating of the valves. This is possible because of the use of spring in valve lifter, which eliminates valve seating’ noise. ; 3 NOTE: This combination of design does away with valve mechanism noise. The brackets are designed so that one bracket serves two cylinders and care ries four rocker arms, each bracket has been strengthened to eliminate vibra- i d with waste and form an oil well which lubricates the rocker arm bushings and push-rod ball ends, there being two pins and one filling plug to each bracket. Valve mechanism ‘is ey lubricated and is covered with dust proof covers, which prolongs the life of the bearings. The cylinder block has been designed to accommodate covers. This design insures absolute circulation at all times as long as there is oil in _ the motor, regardless. whether pressure gauge registers. The oil pump is pro- vided with’a friction drive gear which prevents breakage due to freezing if frozen the friction creates heat and starts a flow of oil. OIL. RUMP... . The.pump screen is provided with a steel shell imside of screen and isfastened at top of screen and at the bottom to pump cover, which ‘prev y foreign sittbece from finding its way into the oiling system. ' ni ¥ Pressure gauge has been provided instead vf oi! sight gauge, which eliminates pumping the oil from the motor to dash and return which also prevents from becoming clogged and freezing. The feature of this design keeps all oil pipes enclosed in the lower half and there aré no smalt restrictions in pipe line to become clogged. A check valve is placed in the pipe line to insure proper registration on oil pressure gauge. ‘| An absolute positive level gatige has been provided, which consists of a gradn- ated measuring bar or stick which extends into oil reservoir. In order to de- termine corréct depth of oil, stick should be withdrawn wiped clean and rein- serted to give correct reading. This should be done with motor standing idle. An oil filler has been provided instead of the front breather tube, so that motor can be filled without the dsé of a funnel. Instead of flexible tube between the exhaust pipe and carburetor, permanent fittings have been provided, using steel tubing and sealing all joints. A flex- ible tube has been added to bottom of carburetor to carry off exhaust gas thru mud pan. A damper has been provided in permanent fittidg to control heat on the carburetor. These clamps changed to give motor neater appearance. An extension has been provided which comes out thru the side of transmission bell housing which makes it possible to lubricate the bearings by raising floor boards and screwing down grease cup. The filler hole has been placed on left side of the transmission so as not to interfere with the battery. Grease cup extensions have been provided so that bearings can be lubricated from rear of car. The spring seat bearing on axle tube has been increased and spring séat anchor block has been enlarged and more securely fastened to tube and anchor is en- closed in spring seat, which protects it against the dust and dirt and increases life"of bearing. The length of the rear springs has been increased two inches and the center trunion support block has been offset which makes rear half of spring 21 inches long aud forward half 27 inches long. The feature of this design allows the reur end of the car to be dropped 11/4 inches and greatly improves the riding qualities of car. The diameter of the spring rgar bolt has been increased from 54-inch to 7/-inch, which increased the life of the bearing. A double naught grease cup has been provided which will insure perfect lubri- _-» EL cation. CHASSIS No. 20—Muffler West Second The muffler cutout has been eliminated to conform to state laws and recom- mendation by N. A. C. C. This pedal has been changed to button type with foet rest which cuts down opening in floor board and prevents overheating. This pedal has been provided with a spring in the bracket to eliminate rattle. This plate has been placed at the rear end of the left side member so as not to interfere with the radiator splash pan. A new cap has been provided to prevent breakage. A new type rim has been adopted with a diagonal split and provided with lock. The feature of this rim is it has all of the advantages of a continuous rim and the diagonal split allows it to be operated without a tire tool. These brackets have been mate heavier to prevent breakage. WIRING: Identically. the same as used om the “E” jobs except head lamp wires are enclosed in the fender iron to keep them out of sight. An ameter has been provided separate from the switch; this provides much more pleasing arrangement of the instrument on board. The switch is of the round type with rotary. contacts, two levers, lights and ignition; Dust-proof contacts; Terminal post covered, with a separate pressing making it difficult to be shorted by theft. The rims on the lamp are enameled t#prevent rusting. This pan is shaped so as it fastens to top edge of frame and extends from under radiator brackets to the end of the frame and fastens to spring shackle bolt and covers up all rivets as well as preventing mud from splashing into radiator core. Louvres have been changed and made narrow, using two hood faseners and one handle tg each wing, which greatly improves the appearance. Non-turnable nuts are used to prevent them from working loose. This apron has a hand-hole provided for the purpose of removing rear spring bolt front and is large enough to permit woking to a good advantage. Improved design. A pressed steel iron having_a “U”’ section and is so arranged to have a sealing channel for headlamp wires. The fender side wing extends to end of frame and is heavily crowned giving better appearance. This wing has been extended to fill the gap between the fender and the gas tank and gives a more finished appearance, also prevents mud splashing up rear corners of body. These boards have 31/4-in- by '/4-in. groves running lengthwise on the under- side of board to prevent warping caused by expansion. The linoleum will be fastened to board with water-proof cement. New and improved design. One-third larger. New style top on all modelz. ALL TOPS have a rigid locking bow socket con- struction. The curtain pockets are located between the two center bows and give a very clean appearance as well as more head clearance. The back cur- tains are provided with plate glass with nickle plated frames. This dust hood has been provided with a strap loop inside of dust cover which supports back curtain glass and these straps are fastened to dust cover in such a way as to be conveniently adjusted. , All curtains properly marked to assist operator in placing them in proper posi- tion. New layout which permits all instruments being readily observed. The hinge pin has been made larger to insure longevity. These constructions have been provided with a mattress type wire covering. H-49 has been provided with tool compartment under right hand side of cowl. H-45 rear seat cushion, has been made 1 inch wider from front to rear.
