C. T. U. Working on the theory that “‘fail- ure to vote is a vote for the wets,” hoth oreanizations are concentrating their efforts at this time on ‘omn- plete poll of dry sentiment, confident that when the ballots are counted Casper and Natrona county will show a huge plurality for the ousting of the liquor interests. During the closing days of the cam- paign they will seek to impress upon their sympathizers that the battle re- mains to be won at the polls and not by latent sympathy in the cause. Fol- lewing up the publicity drive inaug- urated early in the campaign, 3,000 sample ballots. have been printed for distribution as a means of removing any misunderstandings that might defeat the objects of the campaign. The constitutional © armendments, of which the “dry” amendment is No. 1, will appear on a separate ballot and yoters should take care to mark it properly. Members of the W. C. T. U, will furnish “sentinels” on elec- tion day to hold banners and dis- tribute sample ballots properly marked at a safe distance from the polls. A standing offer of $100 for the ar- rest and conviction of an illegal voter hes been increased to $200 by the Anti-Saloon League of this county and the reward will be promptly paid to any person who brings about such i Altho the prohibition sare not entitled te chal-/ 's at the polls they will be rep- resented and workers will be on hand to defeat attempts at illegal voting. The betting seems to favor Rob- ert D. Carey for governor. At noon today Carey money went begging. Early yesterday morning it is said that one bet of $100 at even money was placed on the outcome of the gubnatorial contest. One Carey en- thusiast flashed a roll of $900 this morning and was unable to find any Houx money in sight. In sporting circles bets of 2-to-1 on Mondell remained untaken, while odds of 5-to-3 on Warren found few takers. Several small wagers were laid at even money on the outcome of the contest for sheriff. In the municipal contest the bet- ting seemed to favor the election of the American ticket, and on the street corners and hotel lobbies numerous small wagers were laid, some at even money and a few at odds, according | world, the powers to be exercised be- |ing incidental only to mining, to-wit To carry on the business of acquir- ing, owning, entering, and disposing | of, and dealing in lands, mines. min- jers's. chemicals. jand all other kinds ‘and species of property, real and personal in gen- eral, and which may and do enter specifically into or relate to mining, milling, concentrating, converting, smelting, testing, treating, preparing for market, mantfacturing, buying selling. exchanging and otherwise producing and dealing in platinum, gold, silver, copper, iron, maganese, vanadium, cobalt, uranium, lead, zinc, aluminum, sulphur, asphalt, gilsonite, bauxite, gypsum, potash, alum, borax, |euano and phosphate rock, and all ‘kinds of ores, metals, rocks, clays, | earths, elements, minerals and chemij- cals of similar or allied or related | properties withowt specifie enumera- tions thereof. and all-préducts. and by-products thereof, whether crude, or raw, or manufactured wholly or in part therefrom, or in conjunction | with other suitable and _ requisite |materials, and ingredients, and the |arrange, and combine and re-combine as may prove essential, and by what- {soever process chemical or mechani- ‘cal the same can or may be produced, {and to conduct generally all business | appurtenant thereto. | To work, prospect, or develop lands, mines and minerals, of every {nature or description, either for itself {or other companies, corporations or jindividuals upon such terms and for jsuch remuneration as_ it shall deem |fit and proper, and to accept, take jand hold !ands, minerals and claims jof every kind and nature, either as an |entirety or any interest in the same; land ta buy, sell, own or control stock of other corporations as it may deem fit and proper.
