MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 1918 Sila r THE CASPER DAILY TRIBUNE 4 ’ % < PRINCIPLES OF THE | AMERICAN PARTY The American party, organized along non-partisan lines, solely for the purpose of electing to municipal office in the City of Casper such men as favor the clean, economical and efficient ' administration of the affairs of our city, respectfully present to the people of Casper the follow- ing platform of principles, to which candidates on the American party ticket stand pledged: We are opposed to the present city government and the manner in which the business of the city 1s conducted. We are all taxpayers of the City and County and believe that all tax monies should be expended economically and for the best interests of every citizen and not squandered on an incompetent polize force headed by a man who is holding his position in violation of the charter of the city which does not provide for a Chief of Police. 3 We believe, and aga that every street in the City of Casper could be put in ‘first class ate: condition with the mo ney that is now squandered in piece-meal work on the streets. z We want no citizen of Casper to vote the American Ticket hs believes in the high-handed methods of the present administration. We helieve in a clean, respectable town, where there are no favorites in the ad- ministration of the law and where every-c tizen has an equal show with every other citizen. “Werte not believe that the City of Cisper has any more right to violate the laws of the State of Wyoming than does an individual, and that the violation of law by the city officials should be no more immune from prosecution than would the individual. We believe in a paid fire department, with sufficient apparatus properly placed at convenient points, and sufficient men to properly protect the property of every taxpayer. We believe in a Police Court, with a juvenile division to be handled by suit- able persons, men and women, to the end that our children may be protected and made into better citizens than we ourselves are. We do not believe in favoritism of any kind, such as has been shown during the recent influenza epidemic, when schools, churches, lodges, and picture shows were all closed, and the saloons, houses of prostitution, cabarets and pool halls were allowed to run wide open. If you close one, close all. We shall, if elected, make a sincere and honest effort to compel the Mayor and the City Goins to conduct the affairs of the City of Casper in a straightforward, honest manner, without fear or favor. If you do not want a clean administration, do not vote for ‘i. American Tick- et, for that is what you will get if it is in out Power. é .% ue ¥ ‘i = i The following named candidates, composing the American party ticket, if elected by the b people at the municipal election on November Sth, stand absolutely pledged to carry out the principles as set forth above, and on this platform appeal to the better element of our citizen- ship for their support at the election on Tuesday, November Sth: UW.F.Dunn __‘W.
