THADE WITH TEUTONS, PLAN Defense Society to Obtain Pledges | from 20,000,000 in Two | Americas | —— ' HINGTON, July 8.—A_ boy-| cott against German-made goods, to which §t least 20,000,060 persons in the two Americas shall be pledged, has been started by the American De-| fense society. The pledge reads as follows: i “That I may not directly contr: ute financial aid to the German mil- itary policy, -with, its disregard of in- ternational law, its attacks on un- fortified towns, its massacres of the innocent and the helpless, its en- layement of free peoples, its use of gas and flames, its ignoring the Red Cross badge, its bombing of hospit- als and its torpedoing of defenseles merchant ps, I pledge myself nev any article made in Ger- many.” 4 Not only in this pledge being cir- culated thruout the United States, but it is to be put out all over Cana- da and all thru Latin America, The honorary president of the society is Colonel Theodore Roosevelt and the honorary vice-presidents include Da- vid Jayne Hill, Robert Bacon, Perry}; Belmont, Charles J. They in- whole carload of German helmets, hand grenades, trenc’ mortars, liquid fire spurier other paraphernalia, Theré German airplanes, shot d American flyers. A regular sham war will be s on the circus lot to show Ameri people, and especially the adverti ingmen how Uncle Sam does it to the boche. : Trenches have been dug, artillery and trench mortars set into position, | stening and sniping posts, dugouts, | pill boxes, and many other contriv-| ances of offensive and defensive war- are have been built. Trench fight- ing will be demonstrated by Ameri- can troops, directed by Lieut. Shaw of the Canadian expeditionary forces, Activities of every branch of the American army and navy will be dem-| onstrated. SOUND FRAME IS CALLED AUTOMOBILE FOUNDATION “One needs a glimpse at the Har- roun chassis to appreciate the com- bination of strength and simplicity which are such factors in this car’ performance,” declare officials of the Hough-McRae Motor company. “The car’s frame must be the foun- dation for these qualities. In the Harroun the frame is of stout chan- nel steel a full six inches in width harrow at the front, for short turnin radius, and wide at the rear to accom: modate a roomy body. “The frame itself frames a clean uninterrupted foundation for the -odv, eliminating the long sheet met- al shields which in many cars bridge) the gap between the body and the/ running boards, and allowing the run- ng boards themselves to be mount- ec on stout, brackets which run. the! entire width of the car, and also ac: © cross members for the frame.” ed ni | may , be (% I PICTURES RE Profram Filmed by Iris Theater to Be Re-Enacted on Screen This Week Motion pictures of Casper’s Fourth of July program will feature the program at the New Iris Theater on Wednesday and Thursday nights of this week. The camera man of the Iris stationed himself on the corner of the platform at the courthouse and from this vantage point he ob- tained pictures of every. one who cook part.. The pageant was also filmed from the stage while the cam- era, swept the audience time and again during the singing of patriotic airs. The spectacular floats .show up very clearly and the Greek patriots in uniform were filmed to good ad- vantage. A The picture comprises 500. feet of excellent film, made possible by the perfect weather and conditions which prevailed, and «was taken for the exclusive use of the Iris treater. It romises to hold a rare treat for local people as everyone within reach of the camera will be seen on the screen, CHAMP POOL PLAYER OF FIVE STATES IN CASPER C. B.
