The high price of paper is get-j ting to be a serious proposition to the newspaper man, of the best white news print, such as has always been used in print- ing The Times, has gotten so high as to be out of the question, In fact the paper houses refuse to fill orders for that paper except in small quantities. There were representatives of two paper houses in the city in the last two whom would quote prices on any- thing. You sent in your order and the house sent you the paper, if they happened to have it on hand, and charged you what the price happened to be the day your order was received. It is almost impossible to get some lines of book paper at all.
