This neighborhood received a@ terrible shock Iast Thursday evening when word came over the wire that Dr. Miller had been drowned. Harry Hibbs had tak-, en the doetor, Harry’s wife and her mother to Clinton where Har- ry’s wife was to take treatments. Coming back that evening there was only the doctor and Harry in the car. Harry’s wife and her mother stayed in Clinton. About 3 miles out of Clinton the car got from under control in some way and as. they were on a grade it ran off the grade and upset in about 2 feet of water. Harry, af- ter a hard struggle, freed himself and got out from under the car: He was bruised up some but be- fore help could arrive Dr. Miller had drowned. The family have the sympathy of the entire com- munity The funeral was held from the Baptist church Saturday at eleven o’clock. Rev. Smith and Thomas and also the Masonic lodge had charge of the services. Dr.. Miller had a large‘ circle of friends. He was a member of the Baptist church and had been for a number of years. Mrs. B. F. Richards of Butler and grandson, Fred, and son, Ed- win, and his wife and daughter attended the funeral of Dr. Mill- er Saturday and paid her daugh- ter and family, Mrs. Tan White, a short visit.
